DS Woodworks — Local services in Lakeway

We worked with David and his team to do a number of projects in our new construction home. David worked with us by looking over our home, our pinterest boards , and designs from our designer in order to adequately plan and execute the vision. As you can see in the pictures, the work came out excellently.

I especially want to call out the primary closet. We got multiple quotes from big box retailers that just couldn't design a closet system with zero open storage. We wanted the closet to be both functional and pleasing to the eye, and most closet systems lose that when you can see hanging clothing. David and his team went above what we thought was possible, and even made a door for the linen closet (that was oddly in the closet lol) to make everything look cohesive. They were also able to add a cabinet around our fridge (as the builder really should have originally)!

Overall, we love all of the work. Our primary closet, kitchen, office, pantry, and media room are all custom home level because of the work the team was able to do. We will definitely be working with this team again.

The only con I can really state is the time. The projects themselves didn't take long. However, there were just a few weeks in between where the team was busy with other projects. This was a bit frustrating as we were living in the chaos of a new home longer than we desired. David did let us know what caused the delay and things sped up drastically towards the end.

Pricing was reasonable with no surprises. One of the best carpenters in the Austin area :)

I found David’s business through Google and I reached out to him regarding a quote for a mud bench for my entryway. He was quick to respond and answered all the questions I had. He even took the time to send videos to explain the difference in methods that could be used. I provided a mock of what I wanted as I was very particular about what I wanted and couldn’t find something representative elsewhere. Upon further discussion, we agreed on the format of it and scheduled a time for him to come out and measure. Throughout the entire process, his communication and timeliness was much appreciated.

David is incredibly friendly and patient. I wanted white oak for my bench but the sample wasn’t pulling the undertones I desired. I sent him an inspiration picture and he ordered the exact same stain that was used and the bench came out beautifully! I also requested that the shelves were adjustable/removable and he was able to deliver.

When ordering custom furniture, you want someone who is transparent, detail oriented, and great at what they do. David is your guy! I almost went with someone else until I came across his business page and I am SO glad...

Hands down one of the best people I have worked with. I called DS Woodworks for a quote on a project and the next day he came to my home to take measurements and sketch up a rough draft all within minutes. David is very personable and gave me a fair pricing for the project. He also took the time to explain the process and was always one call/text away from any questions I had.

After installation, David noticed a minor issue on one of the cabinet doors and took it upon himself to fix it without hesitation. You can tell he is very passionate about his work and 100% delivers high quality craftsmanship. David and his team completed the job within the timeframe that was given.

We will be hiring him for future projects and recommending him to anybody needing a refresh in their home. Thanks to David and his team for giving me the laundry room of my dreams! You guys...
