Could tell there was effort to update, but some aspects missed the mark; not matching the reviews. What was good: The front desk staff provided a warm and welcoming greeting upon arrival. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The room was clean and well-maintained.
Room for improvement: Bar experience: While enjoying a beer at the bar, noticed the selection lacked local options. Considering Colorado’s thriving microbrewery scene, it would be great to see this hotel support local small businesses by offering microbrews. Additionally, the bar staff openly discussed operational matters such as staffing and financial performance. Even though it was the end of the day, this type of conversation is best kept private and not in earshot of guests. Room aesthetics and amenities: The room’s color palette felt overly busy, with competing colors and furniture style that detracted from creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The lack of Wi-Fi was disappointing, and the limited TV channel options, coupled with a confusing interface for finding news channels, added frustration.
The bathroom was extremely small and in need of updates to match modern expectations. One of the smallest I have experienced.
Breakfast: The breakfast options leaned heavily on over-processed foods, with the exception of some eggs, which were decent. However, there were no salt or pepper shakers at the table, requiring a trip to the dining area to fetch them. We were the only ones in what was a super large sterile room; made it feel awkward.
Did not use the pool...
Read moreThis is an independent hotel, but don’t let that hinder your stay here. Everything is clean and freshly remodeled, stylishly done. A few items in our room were dated, but most everything else was new or refreshed. The bed was very comfortable and my wife thought this was the best pillow she has had on our two week vacation. ||Their pool was closed for repairs, but it is in an atrium with all sorts of trees and plants. Part of their dining area flows out into the atrium as well. ||The restaurant here is splendid and a must visit. We stayed on a Thursday night and the restaurant was busy, for good reason. The food is incredible and their cocktails are on par. As expected, the continental breakfast was the best anywhere we have ever stayed, except places where it was actually in the hotel restaurant. This was not typical microwaved “free breakfast” food, but obviously prepared in their restaurant. Delicious!||It was quiet and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. The only negatives were the bathroom was kind of small. There weren’t enough places to hang towels, set shower supplies, etc. Highway noise could be a problem, but was not for us in our room. All the other hotels nearby are just as close to the road, so no...
Read moreWe were on a mission to pick up a vehicle in Brush, CO. We were coming from Cherokee, OK,. We could only make it to Lamar by dark due to the snow storms. When I looked at Hotels and Restaurants, I came across the reviews if the Cow Pallace Inn. There was plenty of parking space for the pickup and trailer. We requested a outside room. When we went to dine, the hostess led us to a spot that didn't have any other folks near by. Oh my!! Was it romantic! My hunny ordered a steak and I, the special of the night. He was extremely happy with his steak and really enjoyed his Crown and Cokes from the bar. We were able to get drinks and desert to go. The room was very comfortable feeling, bed and pillows extra cozy. Breakfast was so yummmy!! Check out isn't until noon!! By the way! We tipped very well after our dinner, as ALL the staff was amazing to us!! I mean, they ALL literally made us feel like we were royalty. Here we are 6 days later, I'm still looking at our photos, falling more in love with our moments!! I highly recommend, as does my hunny!! If I see where I can add our photos, I sure will!! Take the time and enjoy your moments at Cow...
