I was highly disappointed in this place! I booked a double room 3 days after New years and the rooms were poorly cleaned in between us! When I moved the curtain as I was trying to find an object I found glow sticks on the floor and when looking under the chair, there was particles under there that was clearly missed from a vacuum. Upon arriving at around 6 pm I asked the front desk lady if it would be okay if I were to park my truck underneath the awning as I had two couches in the bed of my truck and it had started to freeze rain and didn’t want then to get ruined despite being covered with tarps. She replied “the Hotel doesn’t allow us to park there”. I told her that I could could park on the further side of the awning and even if I could put it partially under there and she told me that other cars have to have access to get through. Mind you two buses would fit underneath this awning. She then proceeds to tell me that if I really wanted to I could park at the old bank across the way but that it wasn’t their property and i’d be responsible if I get towed.. there was naybw 5 cars in the entire parking lot but you know they were so busy…. The worst part was the 2 RUDE old women who worked the morning shift. It was fine the night before when my toddler didn’t have his shoe on going to the pool but when they didn’t have it on while sitting at the breakfast table the one morning lady was quite rude!!!! After getting the proper attire and settled to sit and eat breakfast my other toddler spilled his cup of cereal. I asked the woman if she had a mop as I would clean it up. She brought a towel and hovered over me as I was wiping it up. I was cleaning the chair off, wiping the legs down and wiping the table legs down and was working my way to the dirtier area which was the floor. Before getting to the biggest mess which was the floor she scoffs “are you getting that okay” and proceeds to go to the front and tell the other rude lady who mainly just sat on her phone looking at people through the top of her glasses that were to the tip of her nose when she proceeds to come around look at me cleaning and shake her head at me. Proceeding with breakfast I went to make myself an oatmeal and I was looking in the drawers for a brown sugar packet as this is how i’ve ALWAYS made my Hotel minute ready oatmeal. The older woman says “is there something you are looking for” I stated “yeah was looking for brown sugar packets” she then asks me “for what” and I told her “for the oatmeal packets” and she responds with “there is sugar in the oatmeal already”. As if it was my first time making oatmeal and not knowing that. The final thing was while finishing breakfast two of the toddlers started to walk around the kitchen and look out the window and the old woman proceeds to scoff and huff and puff as if we are bothering her or something and continues to make comments of how she has one grandchild who is less than a year old and that she can guarantee that her grand baby would never act like that. And we said like what.. children? Just wait and she again states she knows that they would never. My mother & I proceeded to push all the chairs in at all the tables, wipe our messes up off the tables we used and went back to our rooms to pack and leave. This was the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in a Hotel and I feel as if there needs to be some further training or maybe some changes with these two ladies. I feel as if a Hotel is to accommodate us and make us feel like home, but you wont get that at this hotel! The “view of the Mississippi” wasn’t really a view so don’t waste your money on the room as it doesn’t really come with a view like it is advertised. Overall I would not recommend this place at all and I can say I would never book at this...
Read moreSummary of review: Took forever to check in / out because staff is shared with other Motel. Room smelled musty. Pool was cold. Fridge did not work. Staff was indifferent.
Booked a reservation for our stay through Expedia, property site unseen.
Arrived and disappointed to find out that a Super 8 Motel is on the property. Buildings are joined and look identical.
Checked in and while staff was not un friendly, they were not professional. Extremely disappointed to find out fridge in room did not work. My wife called down to the front desk and was told to ”give it a little bit” for fridge to cool and if it didn’t, to call back to get it replaced.
Fridge did not cool. Having a fridge was important to us. I am from the QC area and part of the reason for the trip was to eat local cuisine. This meant having to lug our cooler and keeping it stocked with ice.
Called back to front desk and was told that they did not have the ability replace fridge. Was told I could keep things in their front desk fridge. Asked for some type of credit for inconvenience, was told I would have to speak to manager, who would not be in until Monday (the 4th of July). Called Monday and Tuesday and left messages for manager and got no response.
Do not stay here. You pay a higher rate for Comfort Inn but you are getting a Motel 8 experience. You may not get what you pay for (amenities / features) and your concern will be met with indifference. They will tell you whatever to appease you in the moment but are really just “kicking the can down the road”. In this age of inflation when your dollar buys less, avoid places that could care less about your experience.
Side note: I did keep our Happy Joe’s pizza left overs in their fridge. May seem trivial but this was part of the reason for the trip. I predictably forgot about asking for it back because it took forever to check out. Staff was running back and forth between front desks.
p.s. please be discerning when looking at the reviews for this hotel. They are obviously paying for s.e.o. Their 5 star reviews are all done by “local guides” and are only a couple of lines. The real reviews are in depth and 1 - 2 stars. I put up my two star and two 5 star reviews magically appear. I wish they cared as much about the customer’s experience as the do about ...
Read moreMy husband and I checked in to this hotel on 7/1/22. Upon our arrival, we noticed the bathroom light switch cover in our room had not been cleaned and was quite grimy. We wiped it with a sanitizing wipe and were able to see the grime that we wiped off of the cover. We then went to use the ice bucket and the bucket was not clean and had a dark liquid inside of the bucket. The hotel also advertises a "Mississippi riverfront view" however the windows are quite dirty and impact the view. This obvious lack of cleanliness makes one concerned about the overall cleanliness of the room. ||||The following morning, I went to the front desk and talked with a person about our concerns. I requested that the manager call me so that I could share my concerns with her. She indicated that the manager was not there right now and took down my name and phone number and said she would give it to her so she could call me. The next morning I still had not heard from her so I talked with the front desk again when we checked out and asked that she call me. They indicated she would be in that day and they would let her know. Five days later I still had not heard from her so I called the hotel and left a voicemail for her indicating I still wanted to talk with her about our concerns. She ignored my voicemail and never called me back. ||||On 7/14, I called to discuss this issue with Choice Hotels. I was told someone would review this complaint and get back with me. On 8/18/22 I still had not heard anything so called back again to check on the status the complaint. They indicated I would hear something in the next 24-48 hours. As of today, I have not heard anything. ||||We paid over$200 per night at this hotel and were not satisfied with the room or with management response to our concerns. I have been a member of Choice Privileges for more than 20 years and am certainly reconsidering whether I will stay in one of their hotels in the future due to their lack of cleanliness and response to these issues. Cleanliness should be a top priority during this...
