Amish Homestay Bed & Breakfast I am so glad I didn't pay attention to the 2 negative reviews! I checked their reviews for other businesses and they were all negative. My son and his girlfriend came in from Pittsburgh and they stayed in Room 2 for the weekend. I'm from Tennessee and stayed longer. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. I will never forget Ben and Emma! We are even planning to travel together in the late spring next year to visit their other daughter in Indiana! Ben and Emma are wonderful, kind and hospitable. They are hard workers who have opened up their home to people from as far away as Australia, Russia and Japan. They have 3 of the prettiest acres in Lancaster County. They have Black Angus, sheep, horses and chickens. Ben took us out in his buggy and it was all I ever dreamed of. We also spent the entire day last Friday roaming around Lancaster County. He showed me a lot of Amish and Mennonite farms. We went to the Lancaster Central Market in downtown Lancaster and had coffee and donuts, then back to the country and saw many one room schoolhouses, an Amish cemetery and even went to a couple of Amish run stores. Saturday night Emma cooked a delicious meal, then we played shuffleboard, which was a blast! One day we went to visit their daughter and son in law's home and greenhouse. They live about 40 minutes away. We had brunch, then their daughter showed me around their home and property. They are a lovely couple. The entire visit was a dream come true and I can't wait to see them again.

The Lapp- family gave us a warm welcome in the form of a homemade bread, bacon and eggs. The bread was enough for 1 breakfast, the bacon and eggs lasted for our 3 breakfasts that we had. The house is large. The beds are a bit squeaky and with some we wondered how long they would hold but it's all part of the experience. We weren't expecting something fancy. Although the air conditioning was wonderful. The Lapp children took us for a buggy ride, gave us a tour around the farm and gave us a great tip for a family restaurant to go eat. As they were building a barn there was lots of noise, starting at 6am, which means we missed out on the pace and quiet part of the experience. But overall we would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time. We stayed in an Amish home for two nights, ate with them and on one night we went to another Amish home for dinner - it was an amazing experience, our hosts were very generous with sharing about their lives and took us for a tour of their area, showing us their stores and schools etc etc, and we went on a buggy ride, a little scary on an icy road with cars and trucks zooming by, but such a great experience. Totally recommend immercing in this way of life for a few days

First, we stayed with Sharon And Chester at Iron Stone Acres. They were so warm, friendly and accommodating! They treated us like we were part of their family. They even invited us to go to church with them and be apart of a family gathering. Sharon was very helpful, personal, and I'm formative. We really had a connection with her and are going to miss her and her family dearly! We also had scheduled a Amish dinner with a family and stayed two nights at an Amish home. We we're highly disappointed. We felt like they just wanted us there for the money they could get from us. They kept trying to sell us things and bring up things to where we would have to spend more money. At the Amish dinner, they barely said anything to us, they passed it the food, then after that passed around get money basket. After that their kids had made some homemade book marks and cards, they begin to pass out those to sell to us. Then she was trying to sell us a cookbook. We were hoping to get more close and personal with the Amish. To learn about their lifestyle and beliefs. They don't want to draw attention to themselves because they don't want to be prideful but they don't mind drawing attention to themselves in other ways as long as they are making a profit from it. I understand that all Amsh familes are not the same and I hope someone else has a better experience than we had with the Amish. The medianite family though was amazing and very loving and religious, all that...

We just wanted to say how much we really enjoyed our experience during our Amish Farm stay at Beacon Hollow Farm. Ben, Anna and family were very warm and friendly. They all went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Ben gave us a very informative yet fun tour of the dairy farm. We watched how cows are milked and cared for day to day. The breakfast of homemade bread, yogurt, blueberry jam and mint tea Anna provided can not be put into words. Amazing!!!!. Their daughter Miriam took time from gardening to answer a few of our questions. The cottage is quaint and clean. The peacefulness was just wonderful. My teenage daughter even was ok without TV or radio because of beauty of nature around us. Only issue for some may be that it is a working farm so there are those farm animals smells. We didn't have issues with it. I would definitely come back in a heart beat. Also if you are ever in the Lancaster area have the website set you up with supper (as the Amish call dinner) with an Amish family in their home. It was far the best experience we ever got to be part of besides the farm stay. The process through the website to set everything up was stress free. Dave was very quick to respond to any of my many questions. I highly recommend going...
