Read moreWe camped in B loop for 7 days last week and had a great time. The park was clean and everyone we encountered was super friendly and courteous. I did notice on the second night, my circuit analyzer was showing an "Open Neutral" and my power cord was getting Hot on the 30A outlet. I was able to get in touch with one of the campground volunteers who immediately called maintenance. While I was speaking with these volunteers, my wife flagged down a different volunteer who happened to be passing by. Within about 15mins., both volunteers showed up with a 50A to 30A adapter for us to connect to the 50A outlet. This worked great and we had no other issues. The next morning maintenance showed up to verify that we were still good to go. I was extremely impressed by how quickly everyone responded and I felt that everyone was dedicated to ensuring we had a good camping trip. There is a sheriff that walks around the campground regularly and she is incredibly friendly and personable as well. They also have a small camp store that offers firewood, locally grown vegetables, preserves, and much more. I like that they have "3" Dump stations, so if you have to leave on a busy morning there is little to no wait when leaving. They offer several water front sites in A & C loop that offer amazing views. We have been sleeping on Wax, but will definitely add this to one of our regular...
Read morereally nice campground. The bathrooms was always clean showers were decent for a campground. This campground gets busy on weekends. a lot of regulars, it seemed everyone knew each other. You can swim right off the shore if thats your thing. we had site A005 right of the lake which is nice. We would go back again if we were doing a "lake" camping. If you rent a boat Id look for better prices other than wax marina. CONS: lots of ticks and this place is not minutes from Mammoth cave, its more like an hour. gps said 50 MINUTES from MAMMOTH CAVE. the green river ferry saves you 5 minutes. We camped to go to the cave. I would recommend staying in Cave City for that. We spent 2 days in cave city and getting there from Wax is a boring crazy drive. The roads are barely 2 lanes and most speeds are 45-55. there is a dollar general right down the road which is super handy. I would come back now that I know where everything is. I find the corps of engineer campgrounds to be nice clean and...
