From the very first moment we drove up the beautiful long and winding driveway to the perfectly positioned, stunning house on the ridge, we knew we'd made the best possible choice of B&B, not just in the Lexington area, but quite possibly in Virginia and I dare say the east coast. (We did visit two other B&Bs in Gettysburg and Connecticut after this and neither came anywhere near the magnificence of this place). On arrival Dave met us like we were members of his own family (even though I had accidentally reversed into his garden...). In fact everything about the house is as if you ARE part of their family. The freshly made chocolate chip cookies (THANKS KAREN) to the superbly decorated rooms and the heartwarmingly friendly chats with Dave and Karen. Don't get me started on their gorgeous pets, Tucker, Deuce and the adorable kitty! Staying in the 'Once Upon A Time' room was something special. Quite possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, it was also enormous!! We stayed two nights and the breakfasts each morning were amazing. Absolutely stunning. The words, BEST BACON EVER! Although it was the middle of winter it was still lovely to sit out on the porch overlooking the valley below and the hills in the distance. There was certainly some romance about it. Again, Dave and Karen are the nicest people I think I've ever met. Always happy to chat and offer advice as to what to head out and see and do, with hundreds of options within a short drive of their immaculate property. I understand why so many of the reviews indicate multiple visits. We've already started planning a 2018 Fall visit and cannot wait to frequent this fine home once again. Only regret is not staying for at least a week!! Thanks guys!! See you in 2018 :)

Brierley Hill is a wonderful place to stay if you are going to Lexington, VA. You feel welcomed from the time you check in to the time you leave. Having Barbara as our host was delightful as she is kind and welcoming. Our room was the valley view and the sunrise in the morning was such a pleasure to look at when you laid in bed. The room was clean and full of supplies you might need. They have plush bathrobes to use for your comfort which I thought was a nice touch. The common room upstairs was convenient with a keurig, tea/coffee pods, sugar, glassware and a stocked mini fridge with some coke and waters. They even have a cute little ice maker for the pitcher of water. There is also a dvd selection you can browse and see if you’d like to watch something. Everyone was quiet and friendly while staying here. Relax on the porch around back on the swing bench or a chair. For breakfast they do cater to special dietary needs, since we were vegan she served our 3 course breakfast with fruit, vegan sausages with hash browns and a sweet dessert after. The atmosphere for breakfast was calm and quiet even with others eating in the same room. The whole stay was just relaxing and we enjoyed every bit of it.

After my fathers funeral, my wife and I decided to take a last minute trip to leave town and just be away. We found Brierley Hill, which has fantastic reviews, and was just far enough out of DC to really get away. Situated in Lexington, VA (Known for VMI and Washington and Lee), the town is full of great shopping and restaurants that can satisfy any craving. We stayed in the Blue Ridge Cottage, which has its own private entrance, and a hot tub. The unit was well appointed, and very comfortable. The property is very well maintained, and has views as far as the eyes can see. Breakfast is not something you want to miss. Both morning, we were treated to the best coffee, and a three course meal made with the freshest ingredients. We spent our time hiking Big House, and exploring the town. Volker and Barbara are the kindest hosts, and work very hard to ensure that your stay meets your expectation. I highly recommend Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast for your next getaway!

Brierley b&b..an impromptu tour which not only met but exceeded our expectations in many ways. The handsome golden pup greeted us at the outset, and he set the tone right there for the rest of the stay. Barbara's place was a perfect example of quaint and eclectic. The interior was tasteful yet personal, nestled in lush green mountains. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for our weekend getaway. In the evening, we decided to take a stroll and dine in Lexington downtown. It was charming with small cafes, artist studios, gift stores, private boutiques, pottery stores, and lots of personnel in uniform! I loved strolling hand in hand aimlessly with my husband, pointing to little cute shops and artifacts they had. It is a university town with a military academy and several retirement communities, so the overall vibe is eclectic. People were chatty; I would say, a usual affair in a small town, from our waiter where we had dinner or the lady at the gift shop or our host at the inn, they made this little gateway more special. So..after dinner, we were back to the inn, and things got personal. Suffice to say, the jacuzzi set the mood. And the sophisticated bathrobes made us feel we were in a movie from the 1980s. Moon and stars were in a good mood too, and we had them for the lovely company while with some music, few soulful and mostly meaningless chatter, we sat on the swing and stared the midnight away. I woke up early; it was a foggy morning. I had an early shower and was ready as I was excited about the three-course gourmet breakfast. We went upstairs, where breakfast is served, a little early, had hot cocoa in the patio beset mist and fog. It was a little chilly, but who cares when you have a view of the mountains and hot cocoa in hand. Then....it was 9 am.. drumroll please... it was the time for the gourmet breakfast. Boy, it didn't disappoint us. Barbara cooked in her elegant kitchen with farm-fresh ingredients. And her rested and patient  soul was reflected in her cooking. We gorged like hungry teenagers. The host suggested an extra portion, and we shamelessly accepted. It took a cup of coffee and an uphill walk to settle the food we glutted. It was time to say goodbye to the lovely inn, our hosts, and Charlie. I got myself a beautiful cup with Brierley hill engraving as a souvenir for the...

I recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend at the Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast, and I am more than happy to share my experiences. This charming establishment offers a quaint escape from the bustling city life, nestled in the picturesque heart of the Shenandoah Valley.

From the moment I arrived, the inn's warm and friendly staff made me feel welcome. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, with the staff eagerly assisting me in settling in. They remained approachable and accommodating throughout my stay, always ready to help with a smile.

The room I stayed in was well-kept and tastefully furnished, exuding a classic charm that fits perfectly with the overall atmosphere of the bed and breakfast. The bed was comfortable, the linens were crisp and clean, and the in-room amenities were adequate. I particularly enjoyed the room's stunning view, overlooking the beautiful landscapes of the valley.

Breakfast was a highlight of my stay at Brierley Hill. Each morning, I was treated to a delightful variety of homemade dishes, all prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The presentation was impeccable, and the taste was even better.

The only area where I felt there could be slight improvements was the Wi-Fi connection. There were times when the internet was a bit patchy, causing minor inconvenience. However, this did not significantly affect the overall quality of my stay.

The location of Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast is another selling point. It's in close proximity to a number of interesting attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

In conclusion, my weekend at Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast was an enjoyable and memorable one. Despite a minor issue with the Wi-Fi, I was thoroughly impressed by the high level of service, the comfortable accommodations, and the outstanding breakfasts. I would gladly recommend this bed and breakfast to those seeking a tranquil retreat with a touch of luxury in the heart of Virginia's scenic...

We were able to enjoy "The Blue Ridge Cottage", during our most recent stay at Brierley Hill Bed & Breakfast. This is a newer area, and the décor reflects that. The cottage is well away from other guests, on the second floor, private stairs and deck area, overlooking a beautifully maintained garden space. Well appointed, with a very comfortable bed, plenty of space to store your personal belongings, seating area and gas fireplace. Huge bathroom with a modern shower, again plenty of space to store your personal items. I can not forget to mention the fluffy robes! Plenty of windows to allow sunlight, with ample window coverings, to close fully, if you desire to do so. The kitchenette is lovey as well, although we were not there long enough to use it. You will find a well stocked beverage fridge and some snacks on the counter. Fresh cookies, are usually in the reception area, of the inn. Breakfasts are wonderfully prepared, ample portions, and always delicious! We also indulged in their special fall special, an "Apple Cider Mimosa" - YUM! Minutes out of Lexington! Its a very easy trip in and out of Lexington. There is always something happening, plenty to see and do! Please try to enjoy dining in one of the many restaurants the town has to offer. Dave and Karen (owners) are well versed in what the area has to offer, from a simple stroll in the park, to hiking a trail, and anything in between. They always have time to chat, treating everyone like an old friend. We have now stayed there, on several occasions, in various rooms, within the inn. and now in the newer cottage space. Everything is pristine clean and well maintained. If you are thinking about Lexington VA, please consider this bed and breakfast. I am almost certain, as you leave, and are heading down the winding drive, someone will be saying "we need to...
