Rockbridge Inn — Hotel in Lexington

5 stars is NOT enough. Sharon and David are the absolute best! They greeted us with smiles and told us all about the beautiful sunrise we could see from our room. There was 2 bottled waters and ice in the mini-fridge. There was fresh coffee every morning at the front desk. We were given a few recommendations for food spots and they were not wrong! So much good eatin' nearby. Now, on to the best part. When booking hotel rooms there is always a spot to write in any requests or special accommodations. Every hotel we book, I write in that I would like a framed picture of Nicolas Cage(greatest actor of all time) to be on the table. Since I'm not famous I don't necessarily expect it to happen but there's always hope. But by the time we got to Rockbridge Inn I had completely forgotten about my special request. Until we walked in to our room(which uses a real key, not a card) and there it was. My framed picture of Nic Cage. And on the table was a small vase with a single red rose. Sharon told us, "You can't have a picture of Nic Cage without a rose." MY heart skipped and I felt true happiness once again. They made this stay and our weekend in Lexington one we will never forget. And they have new customers for life. Any time we're up that way, we're staying at Rockbridge Inn. And just one other thing, before we left to head home, David went to his garden and picked us 2 fresh yellow tomatoes to take with us. We drove home that Sunday well-rested...

First, a very kind and considerate staff. They gave us a refund for the day we no longer had to use due to a change in our travel plans when many lodging facilities would have refused to do this for you.||We found the room rate reasonable for this location. ||We used this facility to attend our grandson’s VMI graduation and it was less than a 10 minute drive to reach downtown Lexington or VMI depending upon traffic. ||We found the area surrounding this location quiet since you are outside of the town and up on a small hill. ||They are a pet friendly hotel and they have a large amount of acreage to exercise your pet. They only charged us a very small fee for our dog.| |No complaints about the wireless service provided at the hotel.||They have no cable TV but instead use Roku. ||They have major ongoing renovations to the facility since this facility was built in the 1950’s.||Our room was clean and the beds and pillows reasonably comfortable. One minor issue was that they need to provide a clothing rod in their rooms to hang clothing. They have an ironing board and iron in each room along with a hairdryer that has a light sensitive night light built into the hairdryer. | |There is a conveniently located gas station/small store at the bottom of this facility’s driveway.||I believe that the quality of this facility will continue to improve as the management continues with their ongoing...

Historic Inn that had been forgotten for some years has been given a second chance under new ownership. Inn is minutes from VMI, and a short drive to Natural Bridge State Park and Virginia Safari Park. A little off the beaten path, this Inn bosts some spectacular mountain views. Updated rooms are quaint and cozy. My husband and I shared a queen suite with a separate living area that has a convertable loveseat, desk, dining table and roku television. The bedroom area had a queen bed, closet, dresser with vanity mirror, sidetable, chair and another roku television. High speed wifi with no buffering allowed for perfect streaming. No frills, but spotless clean. Personal touches made the stay feel more like a bed and breakfast than the typical roadside motel. We had a reservation, made online. Prior to check in, the room temperature was adjusted to make it comfortable upon arrival. Bottles of water and ice were waiting in the room to greet road weary travelers. The proprietors themselves are a lovely couple who go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. The best part? The views are stunning.
