Stayed 1 night(a Thursday) on our way to State College. We had a full hook-up site on the non-pet loop-Oak Loop. Site #06. We did not make a reservation, just showed up, checked the board for available sites and paid with the envelope/honor system. $46.50 which seems expensive for a state park but it was well kept and in a beautiful location in Bald Eagle State Park. There is a Pets Loop too but it was pretty full. Camp Host was on Site #01 and very friendly. Gave me a ride out to the envelope drop so I didn’t need to walk out. Beautiful views of the mountains. We did not use any facilities. They had a few boat ramps, beach area, big playground area, and multiple hiking trails. It was just an overnight but looked very family friendly and had fall activities happening that weekend. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring. Sites were blacktop or stone. Was able to get signal for Dish TV and 3 bars on T-Mobile phone service. Would stay there again.

One of the best camping sites in the area. Clean and well maintained restrooms , wash area , showers are clean , camp sites are clean, as mentioned in website , safe , people are very friendly. Located near the road so you may hear road noise sometimes. Bonus of star gazing if you come here on clear sunny day, but keep it in mind the temperature along with the water body near makes a higher humidity. Neverthelss the location of the sites are absolute beauty. Staffs make sure the clean sites and people has to follow it 🙂. There are few shopping spots within couple of miles. But if you want WAL-MARt it is 15 from the campsite. For record we stayed in sycamore

As for the campground its horrible! No seriously its amazing, and the sites are so level you practically don't need anything to set up, just park and thats it. The sites are spacious too. Shower house is clean and there's a wash sink out front for dishes if you tent. Lots of pet friendly site, Cabins and Yurts. Trails to walk and they are beautifully groomed and maintained. So don't go there, that way there will be a site open for me! Very close to historic Curtain Village, must see and self tours are free. Town of Howard is close by with nice pizza shop and a small restaurant. An ice cream shop right up the road - The Twin Kiss, ice cream and food also.

This is a very nice campground. I gave it 4 stars only because it is disappointing that the dam is quite a good distance away from the campground. I do wish it were closer to the water; and the fact that you can only have one vehicle at the campsite. Depending on which site you choose, it may be quite a distance to the additional vehicle parking - and if that is full, the overflow parking is quite a distance on foot. That said, it is very clean and well maintained. The bathhouse has always been clean. Aside from your regular water activities, there is not a whole lot else to do in the area. It's a great place to go to relax. I see there are some trails mowed to hike on, I have not used these, so I can only report their existence. It is reasonably priced. There are different options to choose from; from rustic camping with no utilities, just electric as well as full hookups. There are shorter pads and there are long ones that will accommodate a nice sized motorhome. There are 2 loops. A no pets loop and a pet friendly loop. There are even some cabins and yurts you can rent. Bathhouse is included for registered campers and $4 for rustic campers and non-guests (honor system). I do see there are some activities on some of the weekends that I have not attended and of course, as the name implies, you may just be able to catch a glimpse of...
