We stayed at Glenmoor over the week of July 4th on our way back from St Andrews NB. We wanted something in Camden in order to break up the drive back to Massachusetts. Glenmoor popped up on a search for dog friendly places in Lincolnville, right next to Camden. The room rate was great and there were not a lot of choices for that Thursday into Saturday. We were very lucky! Our last stay in Rockland was not so great, grouchy innkeepers is a distinct memory.
Glenmoor is lovely, try to get a cabin near the water. Simply appointed but the view and the sounds of the ocean lapping within 10 feet seals the deal. The innkeepers are a young family who are friendly, helpful and so happy you chose their property to spend your time. There is wifi in the cabins (a little pokey but you are literally at the beach), outlets everywhere so that all your devices and your family can spread out and even cable TV. There is even a corkscrew in the room because you definitely want to have a nice glass of wine while you sit on your own porch and watch a sail boat go by.
My daughter and I spent time at reception, putting together a puzzle and then roasted marshmallows with the family in the evening. They have practical advice on dining. Family friendly, dog friendly and scenic views, you really cannot ask for any more. Thanks for...
Read moreWe loved our stay so much we have already booked our next stay. We had a water view cottage and loved the water view, the privacy, the private parking space, and the private patio with Adirondack chairs and the diligent service of the friendly and helpful staff. Our water heater started having issues mid-week and we had a new one installed the next day. We were pool-bound for a few hours but I can think of worse things. Everything was clean and attractive. I do think the bed is too hard and the sofa-bed is only a love seat and not great for a whole week. A couch would be better. I would also appreciate them updating the shower head to a hand-held to improve efficiency in showering and for their staff to better clean the shower. The breakfasts, though delicious, were a bit too predictable so adding more to their repertoire is recommended. Other than that, it was absolutely perfect! The A/C worked great as did the ceiling fan. WiFi was great and cable was mostly good except during storms where it was sometimes touchy. We are eager to return and love that we have a safe, clean, private, and quiet place to stay with our furbaby. The area is beautiful with plenty to do, although shops close...
Read moreWe spent 3 nights here as part of a 5 week road trip from the Gulf coast to the Gulf of Maine. There aren’t enough stars to give! Such a beautiful place right on the ocean. Such friendly and accommodating people! Millicent, Sarah, and all (for those whose names we don’t remember, forgive us) involved in our stay treated us a very valued guests, were a wealth of information, and each morning provided us with beautiful little breakfast baskets. Each evening a roaring firepit. The cottages are spacious, modern, perfectly temperature controlled, and the beds super comfortable. Our cottage was spotless on arrival, and had everything we needed. Glenmoor is ideally located within 10 minutes of the wonderful restaurants and shopping of Camden and 15 from quiter Belfast. It’s steps from Camden Hills State Park and hiking to the summit of Mt. Battie (which we did).|We had our little dog Lilly with us, and truly appreciated the kindness and love the staff showed her. She loved the massive manicured lawns and climbing on the stone walls.|We are already making plans for our return. Glenmoor By the Sea made beautiful memories for us, and we will make more in...
