Stayed here because it was our last resort. We were just passing through Atlanta and no one else had availability without being so far outside of the city. I read the bad reviews but saw that the pictures were not terrible. The lady on the phone was very nice when I explained that we would be arriving after 6pm (when the office closed). She said she would have someone meet us at the entrance and show us to our site and pay the next morning (cash only $25). The gentleman was friendly and helpful. It was getting dark when we arrived but could tell that it was a bit run down. We were only planning on staying one night so we were not going to put our slides out... but after seeing the type of neighborhood we were in we decided to go ahead and level up and put the slides out just to make it look like someone was there. We were leaving to go out to a concert and didn't plan on being back until about 3am. The next day when we were walking our dogs around in the daylight, that's when we really discovered what type of place this really was. When we went to the "office" to pay, she never took down any information, not even our name. Didn't offer a receipt or anything. Most of the campers are permanent residents. They looked like they haven't moved in years and probably never will. Some of the sites were very junky. One resident had a chain and lock around the power box and his surge protector. We noticed that some of the empty "sites" were non working. The power boxes were missing covers and missing parts. It looked very unsafe. The power lines looked like they ran from the office building and were held up by being wrapped around the trees or over branches. There was a building that looked like it might have been a bath house but honestly we didn't even go near it because we were not sure if it was still in working order. There was a rusty, junky swingset behind the office building that was all grown up around and a pool that probably hasn't been used in 10+ years. The fence that was around it had vines and bushes grown up around it and some of it was falling over. Im very surprised the city hasn't stepped in and shut this place down. It is not a campground. It's a very old run down KOA that someone bought and are allowing people to squat there. If you are looking to go camping, this isn't an option for you.... if you are in desperate need of somewhere to park for the night with water and very skeptical electric then you can chance it. I'm not writing this review bc I was unhappy, I could care less about it bc it served its purpose to us only overnighting.. but I am writing this as a warning to all other fellow campers. Not big rig friendly at all. Low hanging branches, very narrow, half paved roads with pot holes. Trees very close to the roads making it hard to maneuver. We camped in a "pull thru" with a 33ft TT.. we had to...
Read moreIt is an older campground, nothing wrong with that but it's obvious no actual repairs have been done in years. We needed somewhere for traveling work and should've investigated further. We ended up calling everywhere else and found somewhere else to stay.
Electric- The park electric is not up to any standards set by the National Electric code and when something fails they will try to blame you for it. The pedestals are way past useful life and connections are improper. And their so called park electrician has no business working on any sort of electrical equipment.
Water- Extremely low pressure. About 20psi
Site- Was on the small side but that's to be expected in a larger town. Asphalt was in disrepair.
Amenities- Has a bathhouse and laundry facility. Both were very run down.
It has the potential to be a very nice campground but until someone else buys it it's probably not going to happen. Call around and stay elsewhere even if it's...
Read moreNot worth one star. Pot holes for speed bumps. No sewer connection. Only 30amp service and it goes out regularly. Bathhouse is a joke. I wouldn't wash a dog in there. Toilets are worse. Laundry room needs cleaning and 4 of 6 washers don't work. Don't bother to tell Jean. She says call the number on the wall. No answer. No reply. Looking forward to moving. 3 wks later I really need to say Ms Jean in the office is a nice lady. I had a bad attitude when I wrote the initial review. She is not the owner and can't help the state of facilities. We did get moved to another lot and though still 30amp it did have full connections and newer electric service so we had...
