Our Wonderful Time at Boston Minuteman Campground, Not so much!
My family & I traveled from Cape Cod with another family we are friends with to enjoy a weekend away. We had big plans to visit Nashoba Valley with our families so we could take the kids peach picking. A few family members had to meet us there after work, so they arrived in separate cars. The first night of the trip we returned from dinner at about 8 pm. At around 9 pm the owner (a very soft spoken man who avoided eye contact) stopped by to ask about an additional car on our site. We advised him that we had cleared the car with the lady in the office at the time of check in. Everything was fine. We proceeded to make a fire and hang out for a couple hours after we had put the kids to bed. We all decided to call it a night around 11 pm so we could be well rested to go to Nashoba Valley in the morning.
At around 830 am the following morning, we were "greeted" by the campground owner in a flat out rage. Apparently, a fellow visitor had called to complain about our evening, saying that it sounded like we were having a "frat party", yet we had no music playing, only seven adults around a campfire. Our families go on about 10 camping trips a year together and understand how to be respectful of our neighbors. We were nowhere near being disrespectfully loud to our fellow campers. Now quiet hours were apparently at 10 pm, but when he visited at 9 pm to check on our family member's vehicle, he did not iterate that quiet hours meant we must be in our campers at 10 pm. Although he claims to have made a remark to us regarding 10 pm being complete quiet hours. If he had properly advised us of this, I would think that 1 of the 7 people would have heard this instruction.
So the owner proceeded to speak to us in an irritated and disrespectful manner, claiming that we were out of line the night before. However, we were not arguing or escalating the situation that morning. Short story long, by the end of the conversation he told us that our family members in the separate vehicles, who he referred to as "guests" because they did not travel in the trucks towing the campers, must leave the campground's premises at once. He also decided to add that "guests" are always the issue and he would not allow guests at his campground if possible.
Our family members in turn, left immediately and missed the trip to Nashoba Valley, the whole point for our camping trip. We are very disappointed with the lack of respect shown by this campground. Safe to say we will not be returning for any camping trips...

The cabin is exceptionally well appointed, simple, with the beds and benches and desks and hooks on the walls all just right, and with charming rope latches for the doors. The cabin has two bunkbeds (four sleeping spaces) in a separate tiny room in the back. That room closes off with its own door, and the double bed is in the front little room -- perfect. There's a lovely porch swing and a picnic table with just the right kind of stone fire pit. The plastic mattresses looked clean and we all found them comfortable. There are several functional screened windows that open wide, so you can get lovely fresh air at night. Each of the two rooms has one electrical outlet (place for two plugs). The tiny fridge and microwave are plugged into that outlet in the front room, but you can unplug them as needed. Pack light; the space is very tiny. If you dislike digital emphasis when you camp, you would need to ask them to take away the TV which they advised me they were about to install. If you dislike room freshening devices, you would need to ask them to remove these ahead of time and air out the cabin, as they were potent. The cabin directly faces a rec room which conveniently houses a single bathroom with shower as well as a kitchen sink outside the bathroom. It also houses an arcade of about 10 blinking machines that make various sudden noises, so if you are trying to get into nature and away from this sort of thing, you'll want to use the common bathrooms, which are also located very close by. The common bathrooms were clean, both the toilets and the showers. By the way, the arcade noises and lights will not disturb you in the cabin (they are oriented away from the cabin and are too far to hear), but you'd want to avoid them in the middle of the night, despite the fact that the rec room houses the closest bathroom. The campsite is very quiet at night, and we slept well. We found the people working here to be very accomodating and kind. A friendly man gave us lots of help over the phone finding the best campsite...

We pulled into the Minuteman Campground around 5:30 pm today after a full day of driving. My husband and I have been driving across the country from California with our two sets of parents to move us to Boston. We were excited to finally reach our final destination after two weeks of staying in random RV parks and truck stops...that is until we walked into the office of the Minuteman Campground.
As I go to check in I find out they only allow four adults per campsite. Per their explanation if they allowed six adults it would turn into a rowdy party. This would make sense if we were a group of 20 year olds, but alas, we are a quiet and completely exhausted group of weary travelers with a median age of 40.
I understand the fine print in the confirmation explained there were only 4 people allowed for each site and it was our fault as we totally missed that but as we tried to figure out different options the manager/owner snapped at us saying there was no way she could make an exception. Was there a tent site we could add on? Could we stay in a cabin that inexplicably allows 6 adults anyway (because obviously people don't get rowdy and loud in cabins?!) Could we consider some of the adults as kids since there were other sites with 7 people (4 adults and 3 kids. Again, this isn't rowdy or loud?!)
She was uncompromising in every possible way.
This may look like a nice campground but if the owner/manager is this rude to customers it's clear she doesn't need the business or have respect for anyone, including her uncomfortable employees who stood by silently as she remained unwavering.
Initially she refused to give us a refund for our three night stay but as one other person in our party came in to speak with her nicely about this again she yelled (as her other two employees quietly watched on) saying "I'm sick of this type of thing happening every weekend. Just take the deposit!"
Cash in hand, we walked out irate and spent the next hour trying to find a campground in the area on a busy Friday night.
Welcome to...
