We are currently guests of this hotel. There is good and bad. As pointed out by others, the front desk is a search to begin with, with detour signs leading the way. The construction is going strong. There are NO amenities at this point. Pool, spa and fitness room are closed. No warm cookies upon arrival, as someone mentioned, and the breakfast is a joke if you eat later, as we do. Here's the thing.....honesty in advertising would be great. Their website should state "we are undergoing construction, all facilities are closed, breakfast is modified, (with no one really attending it to replace things as they run out, or have sat so long they are inedible) and we are charging lower rates to compensate". People should know what they're getting into. We would not have booked here if we'd known. The rooms are spacious, but there is no over head light and nothing controlled by a switch, so you have to turn each lamp on individually around the room. With all of them on, reading is still a challenge, The beds are comfy but I hate the pillows. There are three, but they are all the same. The kind your head bounces off. Three pillows should give you three choices, as they do in other hotels. The bathroom is split so the sink is actually in the bedroom. So if one of you gets up earlier than the other, there is no way to shower and do your morning routine while the other one sleeps in. The light has to be on over the sink which shines right into the bedroom. The door to enter and exit the room opens in such a way that you actually have to step into the closet to get out the door. Whoever designed these rooms apparently never stayed in one. I don't think the newer rooms are am improvement other than the decor being updated. So much potential not being used. And we are paying full price with only half as much available to us. There are a dozen different hotels around us, and I picked this one because others I've stayed in were great. ...
Read moreI endured very loud, thumping bass music that sounded like a band playing behind a wall, both nights that I stayed at this hotel.
I already sleep with white noise on a phone turned up to maximum volume.
The sound was so loud that it was audible over my maximum level of white noise.
The noise was so loud and reverberated from what seemed like all sides, so it was tough to hear where it was coming from.
I am guessing it was the room above because at various intervals, there was also loud stomping.
I could hear doors slamming and could tell other people staying at the hotel were disturbed.
The walls were literally shaking from the noise.
There were few towels in the room, perhaps four total, counting a small towel and wash cloth. It seemed odd.
I stayed before at La Quinta Pleasanton up the freeway, and it was always pretty clean. This hotel was not quite as clean.
There were four long brown hairs in the tub and bathroom floor upon first entering the room.
My dog found small bits of trash near the base of the bed and happily played with them.
He specifically found a price tag from new clothing, a small piece of broken plastic, and what appeared to be part of a used tissue.
The bed spread on the bed had a couple of faint stains.
The one plus was that my dog had more grass to walk on outside at this hotel.
The La Quinta in Pleasanton had small patches of dirt only.
The parking lot at this hotel in front was small, and the back lot seemed a bit sketchy and isolated. A gas station and 7-11 sat on one end of the parking lot.
Another hotel was on the other side of this hotel. On that side, a group of wild turkeys presided over grass, which did entertain my dog.
My dog would give this place four stars for the trash in the room and the...
Read moreService is quite bad: It was an empty Sunday, we asked to check in a bit early (maybe 30 mins - 1 hour early) because we have arrived early with small kids. The front desk (forgot her name, but she wears glasses), said she has nothing available and will call me if something comes up. She never called me. So I had to go somewhere for 45 mins and later come back at 3 PM to check in and they have plenty of rooms since the hotel only has a few guests there. When I checked out the next day, the same front desk girl asked me "do you want a receipt?". I was wondering why she would need to ask me that since everybody would expect a receipt. So I responded with a yes and asked her if she could forward it to my email. I finished loading my stuff into the car then checked my email on my phone but still haven't received the receipt. I came back and asked her again about my receipt. She unhappily said she already sent it. At this point I got quite annoyed with her attitude, so I told her that I haven't received it and requested her for a printout. She came inside to print it and gave it to me without any apology.
The room is very old and somewhat dirty: The TV cabinet/stand was tilting to the point that all the drawers were slid out opened by themselves. I had to find something to level it myself. Smoke detector was covered by a plastic bag. This suggests that someone was smoking in my room before: either the last guest did it or the hotel staff did it themselves to prevent alarm goes off. The bathtub was all stained with some paint peeled /chipped off.
The only plus side of this hotel is the indoor pool and jacuzzi.
Next time, I'll be booking a different hotel if I'm back at...
