I met up with my adult kids at Hocking Hills Mine. As I live in Kentucky and my kids live in Ohio. It seemed like a great activity to do while visiting my kids. Save yourself time. Get a bucket of sand , order a box of raw gems on line. Real cheap ($20)compared to the price of there mother load bucket ($60) you will need a dish tub, a scoop, water. There ya go. You just saved yourself the time and money. I drove 4 and a half hours. My kids drove 2 and a half hours. We enjoyed the traffic jam of the over crowded knocking Hills park more than the ripped off mining smooth. And the gold mining would have been the biggest waist of money! They give you a plastic container with 1/4 of a shot glass of sand that has gold flakes in it. A dish tub and glass vile, a gold pan. Tell you to go sit at the table and pan your gold. Don't call...

Be aware the gift shop is not accessible to handicap or wheelchairs and the well is on to steep of a hill to park a wheelchair close however there is a nice seating area at the top with...

As someone with crystal knowledge this was quite sad for what was advertised being in the bucket/ cost vs quantity and quality of what was actually in the bucket. You are definitely only paying for the experience of “mining” the crystals. If you are there for just the fun then I suggest only buying a...
