Update! My first review was written around 2017 timeframe, visited in 2018 as well, but just got back from Labor Day 2019 visit. They did a renovation on the rooms this past winter I was told. Came to find they updated the paint, furniture, lighting, tv and some flooring. They added touches like a room ionizer/dehumidifier which helps A LOT with the stale air the wall AC units can produce. The Wi-Fi is way stronger now, another plus. The staff are all super nice and its still a huge positive their convenience store offers everything you might forget/need for your trip. But they are still a bit lack luster on the beds and cleanliness. They added pillow tops which def helps ... But the beds are SOFT. Like, you really cant sleep two in one bed comfortably. You really sink into them. All rooms have two double beds. In the one we just stayed, the second bed was so completely broken, aka, one side was literally slanted off to the right so you couldn't even sleep in the middle of it for comfort. We reported this to the staff although I dont see it invoking any change simply because we got no real response, but I truly hate complaining! We do really like it here for the vibe and outdoor fun/lake access, but this is one more area for improvement in addition to cleanliness. It just sucks for the price ($174 per nite w/ tax) to find hair/body hair on the bathroom floors, shower curtain, and even in the beds in addition to finger printed door handles and light switch plates. I totally understand this is a no frills accomodation, but then the prices maybe could reflect that better? A lot of things improved like I mentioned, but just warning you to know what to expect. We still had a good time, just achy now and hope the housekeeping aspect continues to improve!

From 2017: No frills motel. The allure has nothing to do with the rooms but everything to do with the location and the view. Rooms are lake facing and you get use of a balcony or patio. You can grill on the lawn with your own portable or they have stationed grills for public use. The rooms are somewhat clean, not great. I do wish they did a better job in that category...I always end up bringing my own cleaning supplies. Rooms are equipped with a mini fridge/freezer. They have AC window units which blow air that is a bit rough on the sinuses and its super noisy. But in the summer any AC is welcome. Depending which room you get the beds themselves leave a lot to be desired. Not firm at all. Again. No one stays here bc the rooms are awesome. It is kind of like roughing it a few steps above camping. I personally enjoy the experience since I dont have my own cabin and you will too as long as your expectations arent too high. I love having use of a dock to tie up the boat out back. In the morning just walk out your patio and off you go. They advertise having Wi-Fi but it doesnt reach all of the rooms. Ive only been able to pick it up standing in the parking lot near the general store onsight. They are strict on check out times. The rooms are often fully booked in the summer...

This motel has a beautiful view of the Lake, the 2nd fl rooms each have a large balcony with slider, and 2 comfy chairs ( but no table). Our room was large with a cathedral ceiling and ceiling fan, A /C , tv, dresser, 2 beds w/ wall mount lights between , micro and fridge, a table and 2 chairs. There was an extra sink outside the bathroom in bedroom. The bathroom vanity and floor looked new; the painted surfaces appeared to have fresh white paint. There were pictures on the walls. The cons: no frills ;no screen on slider, no coffeemaker, no hairdryer, marginal cleaning, older mattresses and old , worn, print bedspreads, flat weave commercial type carpet, But the view was amazing, and there was a large pavilion by the lake with picnic tables for use of motel and marina guests - very nice! We would stay there again. But, new mattresses and light, clean, new solid color coverlets/spreads would be a much needed and welcome ...

We have stayed at the Lighthouse Inn several times. It is just a basic motel, nothing fancy, but it is comfortable and a great place to stay right on the lake. If you have a boat you can dock right there and we bank fish there a lot also. They have big decks you can sit out and with a great view of the water. People have always been friendly there too. Just keep in mind that this truly is a fisherman's hotel. They do have mini refrigerators and microwaves. They clean the room every day and supply towels and a few toiletries. This is always our go to spot when we go...

I am a new boat owner and I left it with this family operated business. The owner Carlos, and his two sons were extremely helpful with everything. I highly suggest you keep your boat at Highpoint. They would pick my boat out of the water with a phone call, and then return it with another call. Very simple! Their store has everything I need if I need something for the boat, snacks when hungry, or just needing a restroom. Really nice place..

High Point has it all. The store has all the fishing supplies you need. Lodging on the water. Ethanol free fuel. Plenty of trailer parking and easy boat launching.

Perfect place to stay while fishing. All rooms have a view of the water with access to boat docks within 70 ft of your room.
