Pros: wonderful location ! Close to everything! Many many restaurants easily to get to. The ambiance is very welcoming and homey! Went for a romantic getaway! The owners are very personable yet give you plenty of privacy. Extremely kind people. The women can cook!!! They are very cautious about any dietary restrictions and mindful of that. Very accommodating. Was fresh baked cookies avaible at night. Kerige for tea and coffee and some packaged granola bars. The breakfast was wholesome and filling! French toast, creamed eggs, bacon. Another morning had pumpkin pancakes, eggs and bacon delicious! Fresh fruit. We stayed in the courting chamber that had the large whirlpool bathtub it was very relaxing and super clean! Had a nice large tile shower. Very nice! We went during winter so no outdoors activities but they did have an outdoor pool closed for the winter. I would highly recommend this place, the people are very sweet, loved staying here with only one problem.
Cons: our bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was a full that had a huge indention in the middle so we both kept rolling in the middle. But the mattress had no back support and was very uncomfortable. We noticed there was no box springs that might have been apart of it 🤷🏻♀️ But the bed was really squeaky we kept laughing because if you moved any at all it would sound so loud. We both agreed no ..... in the bed would be possible 😂. Please note that there is other beds there and just this room had the uncomfortable mattress from talking to others staying there they had firmer mattresses or asked ahead or time so it could just be our preference. But our backs are super sore we tosted a lot. I’ve read a ton of reviews showing how comfortable the courting chamber was so who knows maybe just us! Or not many couples in the courting chamber bed? Not sure!
Overall we would like to stay here again just maybe a different room that has sturdier bed ask questions about he mattress, but we loved the whirlpool relaxation with candle lite. It was very calming and relaxing time away for our very young...
Read moreWhat a delightful overnight stay! As a bit weary traveler upon arrival, I found helpful, friendly hosts, snacks and an assortment of beverages waiting for me in my room, and delightful linens on my bed for me to take a quick nap to rest my highway eyes. The Tucker House is a short drive from the interstate and yet so far away from driving stress. The trees, garden in the back and country road getting there was so wonderful... outdone only by the fantastic, bountiful breakfast! I so appreciate the history of the house but also that the innkeepers keep it so very clean and accommodating. Everything I would need was there. So many little touches made it special, such as the sounds of birds chirping in the early morning and fresh herbs cut from the garden to be enjoyed with my breakfast... the spearmint made great company for my cup of tea! I only wish I had a longer stay. [A special treat, for me, was once again experiencing an old-time spring-loaded screen door in my "Traveler's Room" ! How nice to open the heavy weather door to allow some fresh sunlight and air pour in! ] I came by this B&B when browsing online for a place to stay after planning to take an exercise break in the new Parks of Floyd's Fork nearby. The B&B was just as (and more) restful. STAY HERE the next time you are thinking of a stop-over in Louisville during your travels or make it a destination...
