5 Star Venue, 1 Star Correspondence
Progress Park is one of the newest event venues in Louisville. Hidden in Buechel its a beautiful 12 acre property that makes you feel like you are at a destination wedding. When designing the event space no detail was left out from a beautiful bridal suite to a masculine groomâs room, gorgeous overhead lighting and a top notch catering area. You can tell one of the owners, Mike, takes great pride in the landscaping and there are multiple picturesque areas for beautiful photos. Unfortunately, my raving must stop there. While the property is beyond compare the curt and oftentimes downright rude emails from the owners put a huge damper on the planning process. On the tours they wow you and make great promises but behind the keyboard they almost ruined my day. After booking and placing a down payment, it would sometimes take 2+ weeks to receive a response via email(this was remedied as the date became closer). Small requests such as early access to the fridge in the house that we rented on property for our wedding night(for an extra $470) were denied. I was simply told to have my planner stock the fridge at check-in (at 3pm after all of our wedding festivities were well underway) or instructed to have my family do soâwhich members of my family already had tasks for the day such as taking care of elderly and disabled family members. God forbid you want to rent outside chairsâwe had 154 planned guests and the Progress Park team refused to help clear them at the end of the event, saying it should be the sole responsibility of my petite planner to move and stack each chair on top of all of her other duties. Ultimately I had to pay an additional fee for same night pickup of the chairs. This seemed more reasonable than the fees Progress Park threatened to hold over my head for storage. These chairs were contracted to be delivered on the day of the event but for reasons unbeknownst to me were delivered a day early. I lost sleep that night worried how Progress Park would respond to this and if I would be slammed with another fee. They advertise being a âwedding venueâ and cost $9k+ but then they nickel and dimed me when it came to rentals being picked up on Monday after a Saturday weddingâthis is not an uncommon practice for this industry. From booking the venue in June of 2024 to my wedding in September 2025 they changed access times to the venue/property multiple times which made it difficult to coordinate with vendors. I hope and pray for future brides that some of the inconsistencies and rudeness are just growing pains since they are a newer venue. The weather and day were luckily perfect despite their correspondence making me âjust want to get it over and done withâ.
PS. Mike was always friendly, polite and gracious. Serene is the new event coordinator that they hired (maybe in June/July of this year?) and she was also lovely on the day of. Hopefully her presence will help with consistency...

A few weeks back I won an Instagram giveaway to stay at Progress Park Airstream Resort & Event Center. (I KNOW RIGHT!!!?đđ¤Š) Well- I wasnât sure what to expect. Never stayed in an airstream, especially not with three littles. This place is only 8 min from my house and I wasnâtt conviced that somewhere IN-TOWN could have the feel of camping.
Well- I was VERY IMPRESSED and let me save you all that mistake of not knowing about Progress Park. THIS PLACE IS A GEM!!!!!!
We had our own VERY NICE airstream - Very comfortable and updated and everyone had our own beds. It came with all the amenities. Showers were great. Everything was clean. Tv/wifi/ firepit with charcoal and sâmores sticks and bundle of wood. đ¤Ż
Then- let me tell you about the FUN thatâs on the property. This BEAUTIFUL little property has a pond with kayaks and SUPs-fishing, pickleball court⌠corn hole, giant jenga, giant connect-four , a playground (might I add its the âold-schoolâ style playground with good stuff like real merry-go-rounds and tetherball!) and so much else. My fav part was it was all just THERE and ready to pick up and play! We didnât have to âcheck-outâ and return equipment⌠just play and enjoy. Plus- it was almosts at capacity the night we stayed and felt nowhere near crowded!!
Such a sweet family run venture that is VERY well-done, professional, and beautiful. Plus one of the owners checked in wirh us and made us feel so welcome. It really was a special way to spend a day making memories together.
Would I have initially stayed here without the free-night incentive- probably not⌠because I didnât GET IT. But now- the answer is OH YES! I would love to go back! I see the vision and appreciate it. SO worth it!
For anyone looking for a place for a family reunion, wedding, office party, church retreat, or just a night with your family- this is it! Save the drive time and appreciate the local beauty of this retreat.
Thank you...
Read moreDuring the pandemic that is keeping our country in a state of panic and social distancing, my wife was forced to stay at home while the school she worked at was shut down, and I still go to work at Amazon. The loneliness and boredom of sitting at home during her pregnancy was driving her mad. Pools were closed, as was just about everywhere we looked, but my wife loves swimming so she searched high and low for somewhere fun we could go that was close, where we could social distance, and that wasn't super expensive. After days of looking to no avail, she stumbled across Progress Park. It looked perfect, so we rushed to book the first date available, and eagerly awaited our visit. Upon arrival, we were greeted from a safe distance by the owners and given a quick rundown of the rules, as well as what to expect while we were there. We stayed aboard the Grace Airstream (one of the camper trailers), and loved it. It was located right on the beach of the lake, had an amazing soft bed, and a TV hooked up with Netflix and Hulu for when we were ready to settle in for the night. The lake is great for swimming and has boats and paddle boards available for guest use, there was an outdoor fire pit where you can roast s'mores, and they also laid out Cornhole games for us to use. We had a great time, and are definitely going to...
