My husband and I just ate there. My husband ordered the oxtails they were only two oxtails for almost $20. His meal included plantains which were good and rice. I will have to say there was a lot of rice no oxtails and lots of rice! The taste was OK but for $20 I would rather have a b ig Mac. For me I had the egusi soup and Fufu. The soup was soured, rancid! I only ate three or four bites because I thought well maybe this was how it’s supposed to taste. This was my first time trying this and I was so excited and normally I’m adventurous and open minded, but this Was horrible. It smelled rancid…like something from out of a cow pasture that had soured. I got immediately I’ll and did not finish it. The FuFu was translucent so it was probably old and expired as well. I am right now literally belching it up and it smells and taste like it was something that had soured. The restaurant is dirty we were waited on by a child on a Friday afternoon which surprised us both. He should have been in school. I am literally sick to my stomach and I ate a couple of hours ago. I would like to give this restaurant a -20 but cannot because Google will not let me. The meal was a little over $50 and what did we get…nothing! And to beat it all… we drove almost an hour from our home just to try this…we will never go back there and if you are smart you won’t go there either. I went open minded due to the reviews but the reviews are wrong. Stay away! I gave this place the benefit of the doubt and I never write a bad review for anyone but like I said do not go to this...
Read moreThe food was sooooo DELICIOUS. It exceeded my expectations honestly. Coming from a Jamaican culture and thinking our Jamaican flavors are impeccable, this literally was going neck to neck with our Jamaican flavors. The cow foot soup reminded me of our goathead/goatbelly soup that we cook for Nine Night or Wake ("Dead Yard") in the Caribbean. I got # 1 on the menu called Chep Garnar (that is Red Jollof Rice with Chicken and Onion Sauce). The jollof rice was very similar to Nigerian jollof to me with a Caribbean flavor and the chicken was marinated well and evenly cooked. I also got Okra soup with fufu and fried plantains. This was delicious too. My husband, who is Nigerian, stated that the food was very delicious and was so pleased. He however stated that Nigerian Okra and Egusi soup were better (hard to believe because he was licking the plate). Lol. We live 2 hours away, but will DEFINITELY be going back. Keep up the...
Read moreThis place is delicious. Probably the best African food I have had in America... that's how delicious it is. We are from North Carolina and like to travel a lot. Both nationally and internationally. We stopped in while on a road trip because my husband found this place online. The food is amazing, the portions are large, and they could easily charge twice the price for their entrées. I highly recommend here. The plantains were cooked to perfection. Sweet, juicy, caramelized. Perfect! The lamb. Oh gosh... have the lamb!. The jolly rice is seasoned better than any African rice I have had here in general. The hot sauce is spicy but also the flavor is definitely worth the heat. The staff is very friendly and happy to help you order as well! There were people here that have never eaten African food before and he carefully walked them through the options. I couldn't recommend it more!! Please stop in....
