Choctaw lake is awesome. Ever since they drained the lake the water is very clean. They have camping sites that include a fire pit, open grill, picnic table, and electrical hook up, so you can bring fans and electrical devices of any sort. There is multiple pavilions and picnic tables with open grills to take a break from swimming and eat in a shaded area. The parks maintenance group does a wonderful job at keeping the place clean. As of right now there is no fishing allowed die to restocking. I believe you will be able to fish again in 2020. This park has many trails for bikes or walking as well. I live it. We were amazed at how few campers there were - we were one of two or three (with the exception of the host) during the time we were there.    Read moreVery beautiful, very quiet campground right on a nice reservoir. They have a section you can reserve and a section that is first come, first served. I stayed on the reserved side and was all by myself (mid-week). There were about 6 campers in the other area. The walking trail was well maintained and easy to navigate.
