My parents brought us here. Now I'm bringing my kids here. Total over 40 years now. They have all the different accommodation types for your desired way of camping. Love having a golf cart now to add to the overall experience. The staff are all nice. In the past at times there was a grouch or two. That's life. We just ignored them. Campground is clean. There are 3 pools and 1 being an adults only pool. Nice lake with beach. A yummy snack shack on the beach. Ice cream hut too! Also a playground with basketball nets. Check out their events calendar for all the fun things they offer! Also a campground store and game room. Laundry facility if you need it. Lots of fishing spots too. !5 minutes to Wildwood boardwalk for more added fun for all. I read some of the reviews with bugs mentioned.......wow people you do realize you’re camping right ????? It happens you are doing an outdoor adventure.

Where do i start? Hmm, first of all, i reserved a tent space for 3 adults and one child, however, when i arrived to check in we were only three adults because the child didnt go. They still insisted, and actually charged me " for the extra adult" because according to them, the website didnt charge me the proper rate for three adults. They said i was charged for 2 adults and 2 children instead. Sketchy Next, i was surprised by the little space provided for the tents, and the place was way too close to the main road. You could hear cars all night long. And to top it all off, there were huge lights distributed along the campground in the most unfortunate spots. One of them was directly overhead our tent so it was like trying to sleep in the tent at noon, incredibly annoying and uncomfortable. Not worth the money, not worth the travel if you live farther north like i do.

We have been here a bunch of times and always have fun! They have plenty of activities for both kids and adults! —A con would be the internet situation is terrible. You have to either pay through PayPal / credit card or get an access code— which doesn’t work- ended up using all my data hotspoting. Is good is you have unlimited. Was told by the office that they are gonna look into it and get back to me- they never did- — Another con is some of the staff are snooty and unhelpful. I do understand the world we are in but this was before Covid - Pro - they keep the place clean and very beautiful! - Pro— they are good to the kids! Edit— after the last visit and had a very bad interaction with a manager -June or Joan? Her attitude sucks.. plain out sucks and has left a bad taste in our mouths… we have explored other campgrounds and most likely won’t return here.

Families of young children look somewhere else. My family of 4 camped in a camper over Father’s Day weekend into the week. Besides the outrageous prices, nothing opens until 12pm. You aren’t allowed in the pool, the lake, and you can’t even launch your own boat to fish until a ”lifeguard“ is on duty. mind you the “lifeguard” is only in one spot long the lake. they can’t view the entire lake for boating. And they have NO life guards at the pool. They have a sigh at the pool saying “ you are the best one to protect yourself and your family. Use facility at your own risk.” you aren’t allowed guests due to “Covid“ their rules are absurd and make no sense. It says they offer military discounts and upon checking in they claim it ended the day prior. Of coarse. They are rude, and unhelpful. They have security guards patrolling the park reminding you constantly that your in violation of one of their hundreds of rule. This is supposed to be camping not boot camp. Plenty of other less regimented campgrounds in the area for a better price. Go somewhere else.

I emailed the resort the below message in reply, no response. So I’ll share it here instead for all potential patrons.

In reply to the owner: for the military discount… We did book in the Spring; we checked in on the 19th, the first day of summer is June 20. Judy said you offered military discounts, then we got the switch after the bait tactic when we arrived.

Your security, your desk staff and now you have all hid behind “state law” yet nobody has been able to cite the actual statute that prohibits canoeing without a lifeguard present. I know you exempt yourselves from providing lifeguard supervision at the pool (the one spot where a lifeguard can actually take action to help a swimmer in distress) under NJAC 8:26. One less minimum wage salary you have to pay I guess.

I did, however, notice that your pool is in violation of 8:26-5.3(1) no life hooks, (3) no first aid kit, (4) no spine board, (6) no signaling devices, (7) no throw lines. The only device you proved was a single ring buoy with a rotted rope.

In the lake, your lifeguards cannot be expected to assist boaters in distress since they cannot even observe half the lake from their post. When I pressed your desk staff to cite the statue for why we cannot canoe, he simply deferred to private property rights. You can say you care about your guests, but you’re really just protecting yourself from liability.

If you cared about your guests, you would post lifeguards at the pool where they can help swimmers and leave fisherman to boat and fish at their leisure like every other lake in the state where we boat and fish on public and private lakes and streams without lifeguard supervision.

Your security guard also busted our chops because my daughter had her feet in 2” of water on the shoreline making sandcastles at 10:45 am. He then said there’s cameras watching the lake so either someone on your staff dispatched him there or he was lying to us. He then busted our chops on another day because we were launching the canoe in the swimming area of the lake, when nobody was swimming, quite literally 10’ inside the buoy rope. And the only reason we chose there was because it’s the least steep entrance to the water and I didn’t want my daughter falling in the lake trying to board.

There’s a concept called police discretion where LE chooses not to enforce when the spirit of the law is not being broken when the letter of the law may have been. In your little boot camp world, you either don’t give your security the ability to use discretion when enforcing camp rules, or you don’t hire staff intelligent enough to understand...

As a recently widowed wife of a Veteran I chose this place to take my daughter to celebrate her 18th birthday. We paid what I feel is a considerable fee for a Tiny House Rental...($256/night). I never write reviews but this place deserves it. First of all - it's chaos upon arrival, you walk into the camp store/phone center with no less than 6 people on phones taking reservations. The miserable attitude is palpable. I will say the tiny house was fairly cute and pretty much as expected. We chose this place because we have a family dog and no one available to care for her and because we believed the "hype" of a family run business. If this was MY family business I would be very concerned to understand why a guest would LEAVE 4 DAYS EARLY FROM A PAID IN FULL RESERVATION. But no one cares, what they do care about is price gouging every item in the store because they have a "captive customer". Generally weary travelers who succumb to convenience, instead of forcing themselves to travel to an outside location. The website does not explain/nor does the receipt (you obtain as your confirmation weeks later AFTER payment) things like - whether you have a gas or charcoal grill (that way you could pack accordingly and not pay the ludicrous $ for a bag of charcoal they charge for in their store, or perhaps tell people they have a TV/DVD but you can only get a few horrible channels (c-span, home shopping) because if we had known it would have been easy to pack a bag full of DVD's -but no they offer DVD rental of old titles nobody cares about let alone wants to rent. So...back in the car to spend more money at a jam packed Walmart to buy DVD's you will probably never watch again but need something to keep yourselves entertained. The maintenance staff were the only nice people around, I know this because they were at our site nearly everyday for one thing or another. Oh, BTW bring a mirror because you CANNOT SEE YOURSELF (except the top of your head and your eyes - and were not short both 5'8") When I suggested they be lowered was told "that is by code". Well then spend a couple of $ and supply an adequate mirror on opposite wall -that might be a solution. But no... that would mean they actually care about their guests. They clearly have the $$$ to make changes, and maybe once this was a decent family owned business - but now just an overpriced PEOPLE ZOO. There must be 900 sites or more at this place so if quiet and small is what your thinking - like I did you would be seriously mistaken! Perhaps, if you live in the city maybe you think this is camping? For us we needed a vacation from our vacation! They say 5 mile an hour speed limit but you would swear there is a race track there with engine noises you hear especially at night. The final straw was the arrival of the Police last night to put a cherry on top of a huge waste of $$ and effort put into a vacation I can only hope we don't remember. PS. Not once did anyone from the "family management" offer to make things right by offering any type of credit for the 4 days we had already paid for - so I feel an honest review is only fair. They make darn sure to take your credit card upon arrival so they can charge you if any damages, which we left our tiny house in better condition than it was in when we arrived - and took pictures when we left, because nobody walks through to verify condition upon leaving. Sadly this place makes you feel this might be necessary. We couldn't wait to GET HOME from...

First off, I do not typically write reviews but I felt this one was necessary. I've been a near full-time RV'er with a 42' class a motorhome for the past five years and have visited many many campgrounds over 17 plus states. First off, Beachcomber is on the expensive side in my opinion, secondly it's very tight navigating to the back end of the property where the larger RV sites are located. For the inexperienced or new RV driver this could be an issue on tight narrow gravel roads.||I arrived at 12:30pm for a 2 night 3 day stay and was told I was too early and maybe "we should go get lunch" to pass the time until 2pm. I said, I have a 42' coach blocking the lane with a car attached, I can't just back out to go get lunch. Then I hear these words..."Well, if you make a $20 cash donation to 'the beachcomber' or the 'animal shelter' you can go ahead in to your site." I could do nothing but laugh, but because I was between a rock and a hard place, I reluctantly made the "donation" to the animal shelter. Keep in mind, I was already in for $230.00 plus for the two night stay. By the way, the site was open, the previous guests departed.||We had two friends staying in town that wanted to visit us. They checked in at the office, had to pay $20 per person to enter, then another $20 "if you want to drive your car in." So, $60 to visit my campsite for a couple hours. Then came the ridiculous part, security came around to my site and told our guests "get it outta here" pointing to their vehicle, obviously our friends were upset after just handing over $60 to the office that they were not permitted to park at our site. The demeanor of the security guy is what really created disgust. Simple tact, diplomacy and respect go along way in life and this place would benefit from learning it!||The attitudes on these security guys is down right obnoxious and offensive. These people are living in a bubble! I will never come back to this place. Beachcomber is not the only game in town!||RV'ers and campers are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, they like to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and serenity of this beautiful country, strong-arming someone who arrived early for a cash only donation and imposing ridiculous costs on visitors for a couple hours and treating guests as though they're under federal indictment for a “parking violation?” is complete nonsense. Also, our guests were never told where to park, it's commonsense that you would park at the place you're visiting.||Here's some additional information to consider as per the rules: "Air conditioners are to be turned off when going to the beach or away from the site." Can you imagine this? I paid enough money over 2 nights to run my air at home for a month! And one of my personal favorties: "NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED OUTSIDE OF YOUR CAMPING UNIT" Lol, this is a definite first from any campground I've ever visited.||I will never return here based on the rules, regulations and costs. The worst part is having security driving around watching you as though you're doing something wrong! We're all 50+ years of age and paid all of your fees! Dammit, lighten up with your guests and let them have a nice vacation.||Sorry for the long winded review, but it's something to keep in mind if you're thinking of visiting the...
