Sometimes you donβt need anything fancy for a great vacation. This place was just what we were seeking. Our room was more than a simple hotel room. It was spacious and very clean with the added benefit of a small βkitchenβ sink, microwave, a few dishes and silverware, a small (but not tiny) refrigerator and a kitchen table and chairs. I only took a couple dips in the pool but it was nice with a couple spots for small children to sit and play in shallow water. It was an economical choice for a beach getaway in one of our favorite places. It was a quick drive to the beach ( where we spent most of our time) or into town and also close for the Lobster House or winery visits or sunsets at quiet Higby Beach. There is a large Acme just down the road that is much easier than the one in the town center. |We chose this place based on reviews because the website wasnβt up and running and we were not disappointed, so I wanted to give a review that would help others. Next time we come (we will be back) I would bring my own broom to help contain the sand we inevitably brought in (after they beautifully cleaned the room) and my own pillow as the ones there were firmer than I prefer. There isnβt a lot of counter space in the bathroom, but the table and extra kitchen sink made up for that. As I said, it isnβt fancy but you canβt beat what you get for the price. The table gave us options to get takeout food as many restaurants canβt find workers, are not fully operational and donβt take...
Β Β Β Read moreMary, the owner has a bad attitude towards handicap senior people. We have been staying with them for several years (summers) with no issue until last Father's Day weekend week. On our last day, check out time, my disabled husband politely asked Mary to give us an extra hour to check out so that we can have lunch and we can finish loading our car with our luggages & kitchen items. Mind you, my husband & I are both disabled and we both have mobility & respiratory issues that's why we were requesting for an additional hour to check out. Mary just don't want to work with us even if we said that our motel room is left very clean & spotless. Mary just does NOT CARE, very UNSYMPATHETIC and was very RUDE like she's being menopausal. We finally finished loading the car at noon when my husband decided to go back to our room 1 last time just to check if we forgot anything in our room. All of a sudden, here comes menopausal Mary outside our motel room, being loud, scolding us, humiliating me and my husband infront of her housekeeping staff and the motel guests next door saying that we overstayed until noon since she only gave me an extra 30 minutes (until 11:30 am) to check out. Mary could be more decent, professional, patient, empathic and respectful about talking to me & my handicap husband in private to address her petty motel check out issue. MY FAMILY & MY FRIENDS WILL NO LONGER GO BACK TO JERSEY CAPE...
Β Β Β Read moreThis Hotel is a Jewel set back a few minutes from town. The rooms are impeccable and the staff is friendly and helpful. There is a family feel to place. The pool adds an extra bit to the place and is open until 9pm. The other guest are friendly and the size of the hotel makes it feel less overwhelming. This a family operated business and thus allows to always have contact with the owners who can be seen maintaining and connecting with guests. The rooms are bright and clean. There is Wifi and everything one needs when at the beach. We have gone there for years and enjoy the fact that is close enough to town and far away enough to not be in the middle of everything. There is parking which is of course huge in Cape May. Coffee is served on a beautiful screened porch each morning and there is Ice Cream and Banana Bread if you need a quick pick me up. There is also a brick outside grill available for guests to cook on and picnic tables for eating or just taking in the well maintained lush greenery. You are close a variety beaches. Our family always stays there in...
