If you want a nice quiet campsite, go somewhere else. Great Location right on the Katy Trail. Everything else sucks. Well, except the beer selection at the store is good. And if you're a partier and want to hear live music by local bands, this is your place, stay here... My whole issue with this place: absentee ownership. No one there, they don't answer the phone, and it's expensive for what you get. We think someone was parked in our site, but who knows 'cuz nothing is labeled, and no one to notify. The store was supposed to be open Mondays, but it wasn't. When it finally did open (late, 4:30pm Tuesday, supposed to be 2pm-9pm daily), the employee was completely indifferent: "send it in an email to the owner". Sites are cramped, mud pit if it rains, electric hookup is weird, could not find water hookup until I spotted a filthy hose that was left in a mud puddle that thankfully had dried up. I cleaned up the nozzle and used it anyway. Also, note that the glowing reviews are from people who did not stay overnight. Those are from the partiers who come to drink and for the live music... Also a lot of locals just show up to wander around the campgrounds and hang out by the river. In short, unless you like live music and drinking, nothing to recommend here. Avoid.

My fiancé and I stopped here after not knowing anything about the area. We were just visiting Columbia from Kansas City on small family business. We decided we really wanted to spend a night just us out with nature, so we started Google searching. After being indecisive, we stopped at a small corner store about 13 minutes from coopers landing with the name Pier in it and asked the lady at the counter for a good camp site. Her recommendation was absolutely spot on! I have never met a more inviting group of hosts at a camp site. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, they had live music and drinks being served and all of the locals were extremely friendly. We ended out night warm by a fire as we watched the sunset over the Missouri River and woke up to just as beautiful of a sunrise. We will definitely be coming back for more!

We really enjoyed camping right next to the Missouri River at Cooper's Landing Riverside Resort and Marina. It's right along the Katy Trail and we enjoyed walking part way in each direction along the trail. Friendly and helpful staff. The hookups were a bit of a challenge.  Some sites were too far from the hookups. Only a few sites have 50 amp. RV sites are rock & grass. There is no shower house or bathrooms here, only port-a-potty & outside hose shower. No sewer, only dump station. Also, low hanging branches scrapped the top of our motorhome as we drove to the dump station. The day we arrived, Sunday, had live music and a food truck. Lots of people around. But we were the only motorhome with a few tent campers. A small store connected to the office sold Ice cream treats, drinks, t-shirts, hats, & firewood bundles.

Very disappointed in this business and our overall experience. We booked an RV spot months in advance and I even called and left messages multiple times to make sure we would have proper hookups etc. I never once received a call back.

The day we were arriving I called multiple times, again, to see which spot we would be in… no answer. After driving down very windy roads with a huge truck and trailer, as well as a 7 month old baby, we arrived around 7pm, after a super long day of traveling, and no one was there. NO ONE.

Thankfully two tenants that live on site were able to get a hold of the owner! The place had shut down a few days earlier due to bad weather. I 1,000% understand needing to shut down due to weather. I truly do. But WE did NOT receive any phone call telling us we would not have a spot to stay for two nights. They had enough time to call and have the port-o-potties removed, but not enough time to notify us we would not have a reservation.

In most cases I would think to myself that they simply forgot to call us. However, the couple we were traveling with ALSO did NOT receive any sort of phone call or notification that they would not have a spot for two nights. Two reservations that were not notified… hmm.

This left us and a baby, as well as the couple we were traveling with, scrambling to find two last minute spots at 8pm at night. THANKS COOPERS LANDING!

On top of all of that~ we didn’t automatically receive our refunds, I had to call the place and request it. To be honest, I’m not even sure I actually got the refund either.

I never leave 1 star reviews because I know how important reviews are to a business. I also love supporting small businesses… but this experience was absolutely terrible. I should have seen the red flags of not receiving a call back from the...

This is NOT a campground. Let me tell you our experience...|After getting off of the Katy Trail (night 3) we were met by Mike who pointed out our “so called” campsite. It was basically him hand signaling some imaginary site boundaries where we were told our campsite existed. The one area looked like a logging road with deep ruts and he expected us to put a tent there...YEP! Our son mentioned we had 4 adults and 2 tents when angry Mike said “I can give you a refund... we are full for the weekend...or you can sleep in the sandbar as he pointed down in the slough by the river!” Seriously... thanks for the warm WELCOME!! We had already pre-paid $70.00 for 2 campsites (joke) and some wood. The wood was delivered by the nice young man under Angry Mike’s watchful eye but only after we had inquired about it. |Then the poor 2 older cyclists that came along after us wanting to get settled and comfortable for the night went thru the same nightmare. They were told they’d get their money back and to hit the trail. (Ummm Mike this is not how we treat people here in the Show Me State. We are hospitable and courteous. Apparently you were not raised here in what I call home in the Midwest.) We put up with your shenanigans because we were tired, had some sore knees and the boys told me, the mom, “It’s okay he’s on a power trip too much T.” |The food truck was nice, the music so-so, the large yellow dumpster so close to our fire pit (he made just for us as a courtesy...ha ha) we could just throw the trash right in, no showers, no electric... unless you use the buses, and full to the brim ports potties. |Cycle on friends to the next spot....DO NOT CAMP OR...

We stayed in site RV S-5 over Memorial Day weekend. This is overlooking the water. There was 30amp and water available. The staff was friendly and the view, bands, and bar selection was good. Our camper barely met the length requirement to stay in that site. Our issue was that they placed a camper next to us that was way too big, they turned it sideways and it took up S-7, S-6 and half of our site. Also to make things worse, the multiple families staying in it had zero camping etiquette. They constantly walked next to and around our camper day and night, also they parked their bikes between our camper and theirs, barely leaving a path for us to walk to our door. They also had lots of people coming and going, through our site was their entryway. We tried to be nice, because there were a lot of people in a tight space. The last night there the other camper pulled out and it was great! I blame the campground for allowing the situation! They need to correct the website with accurate pictures and descriptions of each site. We should have asked for 1/2 of our money back for 2 of the 3 nights we were there, because we could only use half of our site that we paid a premium for. We never would have made reservations if we knew this was how tight things were going to be. We should’ve left, but we were meeting my son who was biking the Katy Trail. There are only 3 decent RV sites, S-2, S-3, & S-4. There are so many nice things about the place that I hope this encourages the owners to improve the website and not allow the situation to...
