This is our little piece of paradise! I love love love vacations in Mackinaw City. There so much to do in Michigan.! Just Google it.. But the Mackinac Lake Front Cabins are amazing. We have stayed here for the last 5 years. We started in the 2 person cabin in 2016 then stayed twice in a 4 person cabin. Now we are in the newest 6 person 2 bed room cabins which face Lake Huron. They are amazing and very spacious cabins. A few night it got down in the 40's and we were stuck in side. Thank goodness for space heaters and our bag chair as we cuddle up and watch TV and sit by the windows watching the high winds whip up Lake Huron. These cabins are very nice. Access to a small beach, log swings, community fire pit, kids play ground, access to launch your Kayak, SUP, or swim, or gaze at the Big Mighty Mac all day!!! You also have access to the Mill Creek camp ground they have a pool and small camp store. You also have access to small Weber...

Pros: Cheaper than many hotels. Out of town, but more than close enough (5 minute drive). Staff is nice and helpful.
Cons: The advertising was a bit deceiving for us. We were expecting lakefront cabins, ON the lake. Facing the lake, and maybe a little bit of room around us. The view is other cabins, a gravel road, and other guests. The cabins were nice but this is more of a campground situation. Most of the cabins are not facing the lake and they are all about 10 feet apart. Turned out to be a somewhat noisy site during the day, with lots of children and a few dogs, which we didn't think were allowed. Luckily we filled our schedule and only slept and showered in the cabins. Mackinaw and the U.P. are too beautiful to spend time...
Read moreWe went to Mackinaw City for a few nights, and couldn't be happier with our decision to stay here! The cabins are tons better than staying at a hotel, we rented a smaller one that was perfect for 2 people. There was a nice mini-fridge and microwave in the small but clean kitchenette. The bathroom was small as well, but more than adequate. The nightly campfire was a nice touch, nothing like a place to sit and watch a campfire while looking at the Mackinaw Bridge and hearing waves rushing ashore! We drove around the Mills Creek Campground which you have full access to their swimming pool and other amenities, we just didn't stay to actually enjoy them as we were busy in town! We will definitely be...
