I've just read some of your reviews and I suppose if you have only come for the past 2 yrs. you would never know how much you were missing from years ago. Our family used to stay a week every summer for over 20 years. My daughter is now 30 and still always couldn't wait to come during all of her teenage years. (that alone was worth the price of admission. The room and food (we were on the 2 meals a day plan) were a package. NOTHING was extra. (except there was one night when a van went into North Conway to attend a musical/play for those interested) Every day we loved going to either breakfast or dinner to "connect" with the ppl whom we hadn't seen for a year.(we all booked the same week every year before we left) There was a real sense of family and community that was more than likely not found in most places. The room was vacuumed daily, the bathroom was cleaned daily, and beds were made daily. We did not return in the summers of 2020/21 bc of the pandemic. However, we returned with one family for 2 days in the early fall/of 21, and OMG, it felt like we were lodging in a new place for the first time. Although the surroundings looked the same, the climate was ONLY ALL BUSINESS. Nothing, absolutely nothing was the same. Oh, wait, there was complimentary coffee(either cafe or de-cafe) & assorted teas downstairs in the mill. We knew this was the case when booking the rooms and hence, brought all our own food with us. What a sad disappointment. An egg sandwich? What's that? (sounds like Dunkin's) compared to the wonderful hot breakfasts we were accustomed to. I guess we saw some of this coming prior to COvid, with the daily buffet option. That said, you could still order items off of a menu. I purchased something from the gift shop and requested as in for the past 20+ years to put it on our room bill. They said, sorry, we don't do that anymore. Well, it was a wonderful time spent with the family we went with and we got the opportunity to share what it used to be like and what it is now. Then, community reunion, Now, lodging. I know nothing lasts forever, but I must say our gem of a family vacation spot was truly that every year for over 20 years and I guess if you never had it, then there's nothing to miss. It's still beautiful, but it used to be that once you got there, you never had to leave for anything. From the comments I read, that no longer is the case unless you bring everything with you and cook outside. I am sad, however so grateful that we had many years of fun and a sense of community...

Enjoyed a family ski weekend (2 adults, 2 kids) at Purity Spring/King Pine. Stayed in ski-in-ski-out family room in the King Pine Lodge building. Our room was a perfect location for us, and being able to come back in for snack and lunch breaks was a amazing. We will definitely return!!

Slight hiccup upon arrival Friday night -- when we obtained our keycards and entered our room, it had not been cleaned since previous guests (unmade beds, trash in trash cans, etc). As it was 8:15, we had to call the "after hours" helpline. We were promptly assisted by a courteous and professional gentleman who brought us down the road to a different lodging location for the night. At 9am on Saturday morning, we were able to enter our originally scheduled room in the KP lodge. Everyone was courteous and helpful, but it made for a late night Friday and a difficult Saturday early morning doing an extra pack/unpack (especially with kiddos who aren't always the most easy going). Due to the logistics, we ended up with a more stressful Saturday morning and a later ski start than ideal, but all staff members were wonderful and accommodating.

Once we were settled in our planned room, we had a great ski Saturday -- Bunny Hill for learning and then a great time over all trails. Not crowded and no waiting in lift lines. We loved that we could ski till 6pm.... So fun! We had a nice dinner at Traditions, where the service and food were excellent.

Our room had sleeping quarters for 6, but there were 4 of us, so we had adequate space for our snow gear and relaxing. Room was adequate -- nothing special, but no complaints. View of the snow grooming at night was so fun, and we loved waking up to the ski slopes right out our window.

Got a first thing start on Sunday and had a great ski day before heading home.

All in all, a wonderful, top notch weekend at a spot we will definitely return to... And we'll bring family and friends. We had some initial trouble with the lodging/logistics, but all staff...

Oh boy… where do I begin…

The rooms: I’ve seen comments claiming that it’s “rustic”, but I think they just misspelled “old and dated.” These rooms haven’t been updated beyond a coat of paint since about 1975. The carpet and furniture in common areas is even older. The doors from outside going into the room wings don’t close completely, which presents a huge safety hazard. There’s little to no insulation, because the rooms in summer are incredibly warm and humid, despite the AC blasting (and comfy) in the common areas. The in-room amenities are still 20 years out of date. We had to buy a real coffee pot because the tiny one in the room was useless.

Housekeeping visited our room twice in the 5 days we stayed, the first time only to drop off fresh towels but not take away the wet ones (seriously, with the room that humid there was no way towels would dry); the second time was just to take our trash and give even more towels. No beds made, no other trash taken, nothing.

The service: When we did talk to housekeeping and the front desk, they were very nice… especially when I had to tell them that the fire alarm had woken us up TWICE. According to one in my group, the event planner was fantastic and very flexible, which was very much appreciated.

The location: The area may be beautiful, but the King Pine property is too far from the main resort to really be able to do anything. It’s also so far away from anything that there is no cell signal whatsoever. It’s 20-30 minutes away from anything, which might be fine while skiing but not so much while staying in the summer.

Had we known what we were getting into when we booked the stay, our travel plans would have been much different, and we only would have stayed for a single night. It’s not going to be someplace I ever choose...

I would 100% recommend Purity Spring Resort for families - in fact I spent the entire three days on the property during a getaway just with my husband wishing I'd have brought the kids along as there were so many things that they would have enjoyed. Nevertheless, there's something to be said about sitting lakeside alone with my husband just taking in the beauty and relaxing! Thursday, while everyone was off on the canoe trip, was a beautiful time for us as a couple to hang back, kayak and we swam and actually played on the iceberg and teeter-totter in the water - a place that would normally attract a lot of kids. We hadn't laughed together like that in quite a long time! The family traditions at the resort are evident, and those that have had the pleasure of returning here year after year are eager to share their experiences with newcomers like my husband and I were. There's no shortage of activities for everyone from hiking and fishing to boating, dining, lounging, swimming, kayaking, to organized activities like tie dying and crafts, the game room, the indoor pool and fitness center - I could go on and on. You will never be bored at Purity Spring and if you are, take a deep breath, look around and just take in the beauty that surrounds you! The accommodations are great, are room was really clean and the housekeeping staff was super friendly as was all those that we ran into on the staff during our visit. Don't miss the Lobster cookout on Thursday nights - what an absolute treat! The food is great but the big family atmosphere on the island can't be replicated at any other restaurant anywhere!

The good: beautiful location. We're here for our daughters bday: she requested to learn how to ski. King Pine truly is a perfect beginners Mountain. The negatives: I'm just not sure this is worth $250 + per night. We had reserved the cottage and received a call the day prior we were moved to the mill due to a broken water heater. She stated the new room was nicer, which I agree with once we arrive. We had specifically rented the cottage as the fire pit is advertised as an amenity. We understand about the pool and restaurant being closed due to Covid, but the fire pit?? So: no amenities. I was initially excited to see the desk with a view, as I did have some work to complete. But there is no electricity anywhere near it??? The only 2 spots we found outlets were in awkward places. Lastly: the family next door had a large 'Welcome **** Family' sign hanging on their door. Is that reserved for repeat families? As we didn't receive a welcome sign? It may seem silly but there's nothing that annoys me more than customers being treated differently. Also: for the additional 100$ housekeeping fee I thought they might check in our second day. Not to clean or make beds, just to see if anything was needed. Also: no discount on skiing or rentals if you stay at the resort. And we didn't find anyone to deliver here: food requires traveling out of town. Unless you brought microwavable items.

We had a great week here for our family vacation. We booked 8 nights here. It was a little pricey, but it ended up being a great time. The first night, the heat cut out in the middle of the night. When we woke up, they got right on it. We ventured out for the day, and the heat was back by the time we got back. The house we had was not what we thought by the pics, but when we got inside, it was cute! Our family of 6 had plenty of room. Clean house and everything was in working order. The indoor pool was fantastic! We practically had it to ourselves all week. It's big, warm, and incredibly refreshing. The hot tub was just as nice. Our kids loved both. There are a few hiking/walking trails. We found a cool shelter on top of one of the mountains. It was a gorgeous view and an awesome shelter to check out. It wasn't too hard. We have a 9 year old that managed just fine. You're about 20 minutes to conway and all the outlets, which was perfect for holiday shopping. Restaurants galore here, and the ones we hit up were great. Definitely recommend Boston Brothers Pizzeria. The staff at the house/resort was very accommodating. They called each day for room service. They're very kind at the front desk as well. Boston is only 2 hours away, and we had a decent day trip to the city. All in all, a great week away! We would definitely come back for another week away!
