Nice and spacious in the group camps lots of trees and plenty of great little nooks for tents and a few bigger trailers, as well as plenty of parking for all the cars we had. We had a group of about 20 people , 3 dogs and two big campers, a trailer with our ATVs. The fresh potable water was in a great location in the center of camp, the bathrooms were farther walk for us at the last group campground, the one before that , maybe the 2nd one was right behind the bathrooms! They are flushable toilets and a sink, no mirror or hand soap, we brought our own hand soap and towel for the duration of the trip and left in the bathroom. They were clean and well lit / maintained. Our campsite was near the river that was almost completely dry,( safer for little kids!) and there is a walking trail that starts in our camp we stayed in.😏 but not many hikers or bikers came by, there’s a road a bit behind and above camp but not very busy and I think it’s a slow dirt road. We had a lot of space and privacy up there for our kids to run around and noisy families will prefer it up here with our own area and things strewn around all week. Also there is Huge meadow baseball field in camp! Downfall was the part when the camp host came through ,the second to last day, & informed us our atvs and dirt bikes weren’t allowed to come in and out of camp , she was nice about it but it was very annoying that we brought them all the way up ( expensive for gas and hauling pain) from SLC , we learned that our side by side is street legal so we were within our rights to drive that around. The hostess told us we had to take them out of camp and then unload there to drive on arc trails.& sadly mantua lake was closed from the lame algae blooms, but we found hyrum resivior to be 20 mins away and it was a lovely and fun small town actively fun lake with great beaches! You do have to pay to get in with a car or to park outside the park and walk in, not much cheaper tho and the walk down / back up is a big steep winding hill. Parking lot is best option imo especially with any water toys. Not sure where the dock was but there were plenty of water craft zipping about the lake. Lots of paddle crafts plus a fishing dock with lots of dock jumpers!🛶 🏄...
Read moreSo we just recently stayed here (June 23-June 24 2024) and this is what you need to know. It's a very nice campground. It is smaller than your average campground and all the campsites can probably fit just 1-2 tents comfortably and they are kind of small. Only some sites allow for a trailer. All the campsites are pretty close to each other, some closer than others. Sites I would recommend are 4, 11, 17, 18, 19. These all have good shade and 17-19 are right by a creek which is fun! We stayed at 19 and it was AWESOME. Bugs aren't too bad here. The bathrooms are pretty clean with flushable toilets, but I would bring your own toilet paper if you want to (they have 1-ply and it's super thin). Check in - 3:00 and Check out - 12:00 When making your payment, pay close attention to the white paper on the bulletin board and read the instructions (camp hosts are strict here, they do a sweep at night to crack down on stuff). To have more than one vehicle you pay a $20 fee for the second car. If you are making a reservation, triple check that the dates work for everyone in your party because the cancellation/reservation change policy is ridiculous. $10 fee to change any reservation and you will only receive a partial refund if you cancel your reservation. Does not matter how in advance you do it. Overall, great campground, close to Logan or Brigham City (in case you need anymore supplies) and we had cell service the whole time but also feels like you are in the great outdoors...
Read moreMight be the time of year (June) or Group sites C and D are just bad but I dont plan on going back. The campground is close to a dirt road that gets frequent daytime traffic from quads or other ohv leaving little peace during daytime hours. The private property adjacent to the site had little care about campers and were doing yardwork (running a mower) and other constuction (sounded like a concrete saw or something). Last year we had issues of little greenish worms falling from trees which didnt bother me but my wife has entomophobia so it gave her panic attacks with how many there were. This year the cotton rained like snow which made cooking or relaxing rather unpleasant. The cotton also would occasionally get breathed in and cause me to cough, my wife on the other had had incessant allergy problems including constantly blowing her nose, itchy eyes, etc.
Overall not impressed. I would sooner camp at places like North Fork Park in Weber County if I want to be near a lake/reservoir. Otherwise I think I will stick to camping higher in the mountains amongst the pines in dispersed camping areas where even if OHVs are frequent passers by then at least it doesnt cost anything. Told my wife if her family reunion is ever at this camp again then I'd sooner stay...
