We are brand new to RVing, so needless to say, we didn't know what we did not know! We started this journey on the fly, out of necessity, due to a job that was going to require us to move back and forth across the state, over a 6 month period, so we decided that an RV would be the most practical living option. Once we finally acquired our motorhome, we were on the road the next day, no time for studying/learning (my husband had driven a motorhome the same size a few years before, for a few days stay, but the owner was around to oversee all the intricacies, so still pretty much newbies).
How fortunate we were to have found and landed at Camper's Cove on our maiden voyage! Mark and Mindy were very understanding and accommodating on getting us in with our long term needs. And when we finally arrived, after being held up several days due to RV troubles (this RV broke us in right...RV Life!), they treated us like family. Mark and Roger went out of their way to get us all set up and ready to go when we got there. They went way above and beyond to help us with all the ins and outs of setting up and getting situated. It was really an on-the-fly RVing for dummies course that was much appreciated and needed, but very unexpected. They were eager to help, very patient, and above all, didn't treat us like dummies! Mark and Roger also helped us out with a few things that we needed to have repaired while we were there, and just pretty much held our hands and guided us through our budding RV life the whole time we were there. We sure wished we could have taken them with us to our next campground. They were outstanding in every way!
In the office, Mindy and GG were also very helpful with anything we needed, and also very kind and patient. Everyone we encountered at Camper's Cove was pleasant and helpful. I couldn't recommend this place and staff/owner more, they were exceptional and Mark and Roger were the dream team!! Excellent service all around in a nice, relaxing campground with so much wildlife, great fishing and beautiful views of the lake and sunset. Thank you all so so much for a wonderful experience; we hope to come back some day as self-sufficient, well-seasoned RVers (thanks for the...
Read moreI have been a seasonal camper here at Campers Cove for the past 18 years. I have witnessed MANY OUTSTANDING POSITIVE changes in the operation of this park over our time here. The one thing that kept eluding Mark and Judy was the quality of the internet service. My son in law and I pitched a massive overhaul / upgrade in infrastructure to Mark and Judy. I won't go into specifics regarding cost, let's just say it was significant and required a massive undertaking. We started the project in May and DESPITE COVID 19 we managed to finish at the end of July. The internet speeds were around 3 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload. We teamed up with Spectrum to revamp their old television cable system to strictly a broadband internet delivery. We have 3 separate networks now, each with 600 Mbps capability. Using the latest in mesh technology, we are able to deliver a minimum of 25 Mbps down and up to each site. You may still need a booster to bring the signal into your trailer because you basically live in an aluminum box. You now can stream, surf, tweet, snap chat or remotely work to your heart's content. As I said in the beginning, I am a seasonal resident here, I have suffered through the "dark ages" (Lol). But thanks to Mark and Judy's commitment to providing the best possible service, your next visit will allow you to fully take advantage of technology. We are honored that our company AVD+ (Audio Video Data Plus) has been named as the official IT representative for Campers Cove. If you are in the park and have questions, I'm at site 81, please feel free to stop by and we will do our best to assist you with recommendations on boosters, streaming services, or help set up your devices on...
Read moreWas really looking forward to staying here, but unfortunately on our very first night we were viciously targeted, taunted, mocked and bullied by 4 boys between the ages of 10-13 at 10 pm at night. This happened while I was looking for my children near the playground, who were also bullied and ran away. I was ready to call the Alpena Police, however the campground manager allowed me to confront them the next day. But when two older boys LIED and accused me of making this up, the manager decided to side with them by saying “well I wasn’t there.” Come to find out the manager knows these boys, said he was their “bus driver”, so it looks like we’re dealing with hyper entitled locals who get a free pass to bully campground guests at free will. I can’t believe I travelled 1200 miles from Florida to a campground to get taunted, yelled at, mocked, bullied, and accused of lying by Michigan White Trash. FYI this family squats right in the center of the campground, so these kids have full view of everyone. I’m still upset, these monsters get to stay all summer (no where else to live??!!) while HALF of my trip (only two nights) was RUINED. I was ready to call the police, and I still may file a report. I’ve had it with uncivilized white trash ruining life for everyone. Since the campground wants to accuse a 43 year old woman who’s got PLENTY of other things to do of lying, I will post a picture of these monsters on Yelp so everyone else can see them for themselves. They are BULLIES and LIARS. Be warned, this is the land of good ole boy Larry Nassar, where women just make things up and lying scum gets run of...
