Warm, safe, and inviting! Wonderful staff, host(s), and owners at this small mom-and-pop family run adorable mini-resort! They were sensitive, empathetic, and understanding to our every need. We were delighted to find this mini resort/condo-type escape during a last minute search for accommodations near Key West. It is a reasonable drive to visit various Florida Keys attractions and historic venues. We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious, clean, and tidy the rooms were. Although it is a short drive to take advantage of local amenities and restaurants, there are various places that will deliver food and even groceries. If you forget to bring something, there are plenty of places to purchase items or have them delivered. It might seem a little pricey when booking Florida Key accommodations, but keep in mind that there is no state tax and you are able to save money if you prepare some of your meals in the fully stocked kitchen rather than eating out. The friendly owners/staff/host(s) are available to help you find resources to suit your needs. They will even help you make arrangements to do things like kayaking. Complimentary paddle boarding came with our reservation! Both WiFi and cable TV are sufficient. Sunrise and sunsets from the balcony to the dock are unforgettable. We really enjoyed taking a walk down the beach to the end of the dock to sit by the ocean in the evenings. You don’t need to pack your beach chairs or umbrellas if you’re staying at this place. They have hammocks, beach chairs, tables, and umbrellas staggered throughout the pool area and beach. It’s super easy to order drinks at the Tiki Bar and have them charged to your room without having to carry your wallet or other personal items around. Leave your beach towels at home, they have you covered with plenty of beach towels. If you run out of towels or need other supplies, they will bring them to you. It was just as easy to shut the world out and shut ourselves in while staying in our room to get much needed rest as it was to walk out to the pool and semi-private beach area. It’s not overly packed and people are mindful of social distancing. It’s completely possible to stay in these self-contained condo-type efficient rooms without coming into close contact with too many other guests/tourists. It was refreshing to stay at an eco-friendly mini resort/condo-style location. They collect their own coconuts and bananas for their Tiki Bar refreshments! It was super cool to see like-minded business owners who have vertical garden towers and are striving to become more self-sustainable and environmentally conscientious. This is a family oriented location. I felt safe and at home with my, husband adult children, and etc. The accommodations are well-suited for special health-concerns and/or differently abled. We loved our stay so much. My husband and I had several days of peaceful and relaxing alone time throughout our week. We did not want to leave! We highly recommend this place and hope to return one day. A big thank you to our sweet hostess, kindhearted staff, and the owners who are generous in heart! 💜🌈🌴🌞🌺

This place had the nicest furnishings of anywhere I’ve ever stayed. Everything was high quality, beautiful, seemingly brand new, in tip top condition, and immmaculately clean. We stayed in a Wreckers House king room which was very spacious and had a huge bathroom and enormous, glorious shower which could easily fit two people, as well as a double vanity. The room was very nicely decorated and had a spacious balcony with two quality chairs and a great view of the adult pool, palm trees, small pier, and ocean. The reception staff were very friendly (shout out to the English girl!) and we felt welcome. The room had a wooden key card which was really cool, as well as eco-friendly. I appreciate the resort’s eco-mindedness. A couple things they could improve in that regard would be to stop using plastic cups for the welcome drink and in the bar, and to provide recycling bins in the room and/or on the premises. To help keep the very nice room furniture nice, they may want to provide coasters. The body wash was also empty in our room on arrival, but the conditioner and shampoo were a nice quality and I appreciated that they supplied them in re-usable containers attached to the wall. The resort was very quiet while we were there, which we very much enjoyed, and were even able to have the very large adult pool to ourselves. My least favorite part of the stay was the tiki bar. We had no idea of its hours and there were no posted drinks/prices. The morning bartender was very slow to greet us and seemed to be chatting with another employee. The tiki bar was also supposed to be the place where coffee was available, but we didn’t see any free, public coffee, so we had to order drinks we paid for. It would be nice and more convenient if coffee was available in the room or lobby for free. We also went to the bar at 10:30pm on a weekday night (unsure of the hours) and were disappointed to find the bartender appearing to shut it down for the night. He ignored us even though we sat down at the bar, and didn’t bother to explain (if?) he was closed at any point, leaving us disappointed and eventually we left after about 10 minutes of being ignored. The resort is very clean, well kept, and has nice landscaping. The employees have a very laid back, surfer dude type vibe. It’s a bit hard to spot this place from the road, both when coming for the first time and returning. It might be good to do something to make it a bit more recognizable from a distance, especially at night. We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful, clean, and beautiful place. If this information was useful, I'd appreciate a quick like or follow. Thank you!

Grassy Flats is one of my favorite vacation spots! One of the most relaxing, beautiful escapes. It is in the perfect spot–midway between Miami and Key West. The resort is so beautiful, tranquil and fun, and they have the most amazing food–honestly, so high quality and some of the BEST in all the keys. I really didn't want to eat at other places because I wanted to try everything on the menus at all of their restaurants. My family and I had such an amazing trip. This place is all around a super cool spot to have a relaxing vacation where you aren't overcrowded with other people and don't have to rush around trying to get from one activity to another. It's hard to find places like that these days & I'm super grateful that Grassy Flats exists! Can't wait to come back. They have live music on the deck during sunset that is so fun and relaxing. They have tons of rental water sports equipment and the Keys Cable Park is also awesome. They have a huge blow up obstacle course that's fun for kids and adults, and they have a cable in the lagoon that allows you to practice wake boarding, which is so cool! ...especially for us beginners. I've never seen anything like it. They have a beer garden at the cable park called Bongo's that has a great selection of drinks, but some of the most incredible food; so, you can chill there before or after wake boarding. They also have hammocks, corn hole, banana plants, passion fruits plants, etc. One of the coolest things about the cable park and resort is that it is covered/surrounded by some of the most amazing murals painted by famous street artists from all around the world. It's really such a cool place to explore. We found out that the owner used to be a pro kite-boarder, so the resort and cable park attracts professional athletes and it is such a cool experience watching the pros! Also, the resort cat, Wilma, is the cutest and sweetest girl everrrrrr #BestManager Already miss Grassy Flats! Planning our next trip ASAP. Thank you for the best time!

Avoid!

Crazy experience at Grassy Flats: the basic check-in took around 25-minutes; the associate copied our ID, assigned room keys, confirmed credit card and gave us the luggage cart. She struggled with this basic activity but that was fine, we moved in and noticed there was no 'do not disturb' card or placard or anything, so this being such a standard thing at everything resort / hotel we popped by the desk to ask for one and to return the luggage cart. The associate apologizes for the missing placard, puts her phone with TikTok playing down so it's still playing for this entire conversation on the counter and scrambles through the desk drawers looking for one. She then says she can't find one and will note it on our room reservation. She asks our last name again and says the wrong room number so we correct her. She says Olivia and we say no, that's not our name. She says your on your honeymoon and in the honeymoon room and we say no. It was crazy. Then she says she's changing our room from the third floor with a beautiful view to a first floor room with a view of weeds and smells of rotten grass at tide change; we say no. She now starts crying and we again ask for the do not disturb for our door and she starts frantically messaging someone. After a few minutes of this teary frantic messaging I saw would it be quicker to call whoever she's messaging so after more typing she finally calls the person. They put the person on speaker phone and no one tells us who it is or why asking for a do not disturb caused this associate to cry but here we are. The person on the phone now tells us they don't do do not disturb placards on the doors and that she'll make a note of this request within their chat. We thanked her and apologized to the crying associate and told her she's doing a good job to try to remedy this ridiculous experience.

Anyway, because of that disaster we went back a few days later to confirm our credit card was actually correct and the honeymooner named Olivia wasn't charging her stay to our card. They said everything was fine, but now we have a refunded $1800 charge on our card from them with no information about what that is or what the charge is. No receipt. No info. No communication. We don't know where we stand with the charges.

The admin aside, the hotel was more of a motel vibe with open air hallways leading to the rooms, so the black metal door handles were exposed to the beating sun and burned your hand when you'd open the door. They were also very heavy and would loudly slam shut so throughout the night you'd be startled awake by slamming doors.

The balcony's were made of warped wood so the guests below you could see up and vise versa. No privacy at this resort.

The Grassy Flats is actually a literal thing. The beach is a -3 ft tide, so the beach disappears, the too-short dock drops off onto rotting grass instead of into the water, and a terrible smell takes over. This smell lingers for hours until the high tide returns to cover the rot. You'll want to avoid being outside for those times of the day.

The driveway turns onto a 55-mph highway, so it's very difficult and dangerous to enter and exit the hotel parking lot. It's also very easy to drive past the entrance because it's hidden without much signage

The pool was too small for the number of guests. There weren't enough chairs or loungers for everyone who was there so people were waiting for one. It was leisurely. Also the pool area was full of dead weeds and coconuts that were ready to drop on the chairs below.

We recommend staying in a canal airBnB or any other hotel / resort. This place was bizarre and way overpriced for what you get. I feel bad for whoever Olivia is who ended up in that...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service that set the tone for the rest of our stay.

The resort is an oasis of tranquility and beauty, perfectly situated on a pristine stretch of beach. The crystal-clear waters and soft, sandy shores provided the perfect backdrop for our daily relaxation. The beach club amenities were top-notch, offering comfortable loungers, umbrellas, and attentive staff ready to cater to our every need.

Our accommodations were nothing short of spectacular. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and elegantly decorated with a modern yet cozy feel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. We enjoyed our morning coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean – a truly magical start to each day.

Dining at Grassy Flats was a culinary delight. The on-site restaurants offered a diverse and delicious menu, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Each meal was a culinary masterpiece, and the staff's attention to detail and friendly service made our dining experiences even more enjoyable.

One of the highlights of our stay was the wide range of activities and amenities available. Whether we were kayaking, wind surfing, or simply lounging by the pool, there was never a dull moment.

The staff at Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club deserve special recognition for their exceptional hospitality. Every team member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Their genuine friendliness and dedication to guest satisfaction truly set this resort apart.

A special mention must be made of Matt, the owner, who we didn't realize was the owner for the first part of our stay. Matt held himself to the ultimate standard of customer service. He was warm and inviting, exuding leadership with his team and serving as the example of how he wants his team to operate. His presence and dedication truly enhanced our experience and showcased the heart and soul behind this exceptional resort.

Additionally, the service of his team was incredible. Alyse was a gem and welcomed us every morning with a bright smile and eagerness to care for us during breakfast, which was incredible every single morning! The night waitstaff and bartenders were also amazing. 10/10 recommend Jannet for an espresso martini. I'm a bit of a snob for a good cocktail, and man, let me tell you, she is SO GOOD!

In summary, Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club exceeded all our expectations. It is the perfect destination for anyone seeking an "unplugged" and relaxing beach getaway. We can't wait to return and create more wonderful memories at this incredible resort. Highly...
