Southcape Resort and Club — Hotel in Mashpee

I wanted to respond directly to the resort but their survey does not come up when you click on the Begin Survey. |We arrived on Saturday and on Monday we had to be moved due to the unit being besieged with flying termites. They were all over the floor, the counters, the refrigerator, the dishes that were drying in the dish rack, in the sink and hundreds on the skylight in the kitchen. Thankfully, that is where they were concentrated and not through the whole unit. | Mind you, there were 4 of us and we had just done all our shopping for the week and making that transition was no small feat. They moved us to a smaller unit that lacked the space we had in the first one. You think they would have upgraded us to a better unit but we were not about to move again. |The washer and dryer was located in a basement full of cobwebs and looked like no one had been down there in years. The next place we moved to had a washer & dryer across the way from us. My children used it but I did not so I am assuming it was better. The place is very outdated but it was clean with the exception of the termites in the 1st unit. I don't think anything has been replaced in these units in many years. Needs new pots & pans & other kitchen utensils as well as big bowls and things to accommodate you when you cook. We had to go out and buy a skillet that food would not stick to. Had to ask for measuring spoons, corkscrew , & laundry basket, there also was no broom but they had a dustpan. The jacuzzi tub in the 2nd unit was leaking (45) and the maintenance man came over and said it was flooding the basement and we were told we could no longer use it. |The pool hours are ridiculous. The indoor and outdoor pools closed at 4:45. |Staff was nice and things from housekeeping were brought in a timely manner. If you need anything after 5pm you are out of luck unless it is an emergency. |Otherwise, it was quiet but not sure I would stay again. My sister's & I stayed there about 10 years ago in the same unit #38 and everything was still the same. It was like stepping...

I just finished a fantastic vacation on the Cape! The weather was amazing- sunny and in the 80s each day! Our day trips to the beaches and quaint towns were fun and relaxing. Southcape Resort and Club is a good place from which to launch days trips around the Cape. The staff are pleasant, attentive and responsive. The living space was dated but adequate. The fixtures, furniture and amenities are quite dated. I felt like I stepped back into the 80s. They do have WiFi. We ate breakfast at the unit but usually had lunch and dinner out. The local grocery store, Roche Brother’s, had prepared foods and an amazing bakery for morning treats.

We loved the Mashpee Commons which is a couple miles away. It has wonderful restaurants (Estia and Bobby Byrnes Pub were our favorites), cute artisan shops, live entertainment in the square, movie theater, local grocery and drug stores. Falmouth was also close and fun, especially the Farmer’s Market, restaurants (Añejo, The Pickle Jar, and Ben & Bill’s homemade ice). We also biked a lot. Shining Sea Bikeway takes you along the sea coast and ends at Woods Hole. Cape Cod Rail Trail is another one that we tried. We biked from certain spots on the trail, mostly where we could park for free and there was a toilet, and bike assist station.

If I stay at Southcape in the future, I’ll ask if there are more updated units. I’m thinking...

Very pretty and peaceful place to spend some quality time with the family. Came here to relax and it was the perfect spot to do so. The apartment has everything you need. The kitchen is a great amenity. I brought my own groceries to make breakfast for the family. They also have a nice deck with grills in the back of each condo. Aparmartment overall is very clean with comfortable rooms. One of them had a jacuzzi that was a plus!! With a shower as well. 2 bathroom total. Cable and a sofa bed. The indoor pool was great!! With covid we had a time frame of 1 hr and a half of use and we were the only ones there. My kids loved it!! Staff are very friendly and they have everything very well under control with covid guidelines. Place is very clean!! That was my biggest concern and they really have every area very clean and with sanitizer stations. Checking process was easy and safe as well. My family and I love it. We will definitely treasure our family memories in here. Thank you...
