I copy and pasted the last communication from the property, below. Dale Parson's and Heavenly Hana Paradise Hotel are crooks. They would not return my and many other's deposits when they closed Maui during Corona-Virus. This is simple theft, and they hide behind the front of Booking.com. My deposit fee that they kept was $118.42. They told me that they would refund my deposit only if I gave them a non-disparagement agreement which would forbid me from telling even the truth about what they are doing. So, I am forfeiting my money to be able to protect other innocent people from this place. Please don't feed businesses that behave this way with your patronage. There are many other businesses that are doing the right thing and not stealing money from vulnerable victims during this pandemic that deserve your business. Aloha Ryan,
We have been very fair with our guests during this pandemic by applying the non-refundable initial payment to a future booking, with no conditions other than date availability.
Nevertheless, due to your dire financial condition, our board of directors has approved a refund of the $118.42 non-refundable initial payment you made on January 25, 2020. This refund will be made upon your agreement of the following:
“Ryan Thiel agrees that he and any member of his family shall not disparage, criticize, or defame Heavenly Hana Paradise, its affiliates and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents, partners, stockholders, employees, products, services, technology, or business either publicly or privately.”
Your acceptance of this non-disparagement agreement must be made by return message and printing that you agree along with your name, date, and current email address.
Within 24 hours of our receipt of your agreement, $118.42 will be refunded to your credit card on file. It should be posted to your account within 7 to 10 business days.
This offer expires at 5:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time on June 18, 2020.

Read more'Heavenly Hana Paradise' is true to its name! This was an absolutely perfect place to stay the night when driving 'The Road to Hana'. It is a small house tucked in the beautiful jungle just before the town of Hana. Our room could not have been any better: EVERY small detail was thought out by the owner and I literally can not think of one thing we needed that wasn't provided. There were complimentary snacks, a game table with numerous card & board games, toothpaste, coffee & tea, a microwave, coffee maker, face wash, towels embroidered for "Dirty Feet" and "Make-Up", wifi, air conditioning, refrigerator, tea pot, utensils and every other kitchen utensil- the list is endless. The room and adjoining bathroom were newly remodeled looking and immaculate, not to mention very comfortably decorated- somewhat whimsically but cozy. The bed was soooo comfortable with the softest sheets and the shower had the best water pressure I've ever seen. I can not say enough good things about this place- it didn't feel like a hotel, motel, or bed & breakfast at all, but more like staying with family. The owner greeted us right away, filled us in on everything there, let us know we could find him whenever needed, and tols us we just needed to close the door behind us in the morning. That was the last we saw or heard from him which was great since we didn't need anything else. I loved that he wasn't a busy body and truely let is enjoy the beautiful peacefulness of the jungle without being intrusive. I recommend staying here to any couple lucky enough to travel The Road to Hana. I know I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I'm ever lucky enough to make the journey again. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up all...
Read moreIt is exciting to fly into Maui and drive to Hana at the end of the island. Drive slowly on Hana Highway. There are cliffs. There are condos with baby powder soft black and red sand beaches outside. There are peaceful, gentle neighbors who are not snobs. There are Great Hilton and Stouffer hotels. We met Rod Stewart and Ozzy there. ||Don't forget to go the island of Puff in the land of Hanalei Bay in Kauaii (Princeville) where South pacific was filmed. The most beautifully colored fish at a snorkling depth of 8". There are beautifully colored flowers everywhere. We drank the most delicious fresh spring water from the caves that we ever experienced. It rains 20 minutes every morning and then the sun comes out at 65 degrees everyday and nature blooms.||Wow, what a place ! I should have bought that $100,000 condo in Princeville Kauwaii in 1988. It had had a view of Bali-Hai. This commentary somewhat gives reason to why honeymooners vacation in...
