Wheat-State Motel — Hotel in McPherson

This place is not worthy of one star. Do not stay here no matter what. When I checked in they showed me the room and that it was cool inside. After I got into the room a half hour later the air conditioning stopped. It just blew out normal air. I called up management to see if they could turn the air conditioning up and they wouldn't. All night long it was cooler outside than it was in the room. I was in my underwear only and sweated all night long. I couldn't open the windows but I could the door but then you would have a lot of mosquitoes in your room if you opened up the door. The windows do not open. Anyway just know they control the air temperature in your room and not you. In the morning they turn on the heat to drive you out of the room. It is August and I'm traveling cross country on a bicycle I was really needing a night in the cool air. I got ripped off and it's messed up that these people are allowed to do this kind of stuff to the guests. I was in room 105. It's sad that they have to rip people off in order to get...

Rooms are clean, employees (Jana) is totally awesome, helpful, courteous, always so nice!! Mark (owner) is respectful answers all questions. Shower has been broke for weeks now.. half repaired?? So now I only have one bathroom instead of two.. The apt living is different than the motel living.. No maid service at all.. Own t.p. etc.. but.. One flat rate and all my bills are taken care of every month..I have a/c & heat.. cable TV.. Electric is always on and a small apt sized fridge.. bedroom, living room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms.. trash it picked up every Monday..I clean everything myself and keep my nose in my own yard.. Neighbors are fantastic.. They keep their noses in their own yards too.. But if we need anything all we have to do is ask.. I'm sure we'd all help one another if the help was asked for.. honestly it's a really great place to live that gets a REALLY bad rap because of how things used to be??? I dunno anything about that.. My stay was an emergency stay, my friend kicked me out and had no place to go. This motel was the closest, yes everything is out dated, I was taller then the shower, tiles and shower bar was falling apart, the toilet did flush right, the fig was off so it had mold on the door. But I was told that the motel was just bought by someone else and the just brought in the front desk lady to help get it cleaned up, it sounded like the owner plans on doing some updates. When I got to the hotel the door was locked and no one was around. I was about to leave and the lovely lady opened up and helped me out. I left my charger at my friends so she was nice enough to let me use hers, they were nice enough to help me find a ride to the airport the next day. Horrible time in Kansas but at least the employees at this motel tried to make my night as comfortable as possible and helped me out as much as possible.
