DenMill Cedar Lodge — Hotel in Melbourne

This was the worst experience ever! Booked room when we called to confirm. Checkin an confirm room number they changed the room 3x an when asked were to pick up the key they stated that the door would be unlocked an the key would be inside. First thought not the safest thing, so when we arrive to location there are several people who permanently live there wondering around the door to the room isn't closed. We open the door to find a not well kept room to say the least with no key. We look for key with no luck call management back as there is no one at the office very rude stating just lock the door they forgot to leave the key. We shut the door an the door doesnt even latch. Just a gentle push an the door pops right open. When trying to explain this to the woman how this is unacceptable an unsafe. Her husband jumps on the phone very threatening states to leave the property within 5 min. Or he's calling the police an we would not be getting a refund. When trying to explain there is no key and the door won't lock. So we leave. We find a room in another town. Funny thing is the next day our friend had a reservation aa well and they gave them the same room that was booked by us with the same issue no key and door won't latch. Complete scam! Nick ,the owner couldn't be more accommodating!! Super welcoming atmosphere! He and his wife are fairly new owners and are committed to bringing good things to their community. The rooms were clean and more than adequate for a nights sleep. They are still in the process of renovating I can see even better things ahead. We even received vouchers for a meal at "Momma's Kitchen " food truck located across the parking lot, which we took advantage of. We had biscuits and gravy and it was plenty enough to fill us up and start the day. Both items were homemade fresh by the owners of the food truck. The price for our stay was a tremendous value. My wife and I recently stayed at the Denmill Cedar Lodge while visiting the beautiful area around Melbourne, Arkansas. Upon arrival, we met the owner, Nick Miller, who greeted us in his newly renovated lodge. We must say he went out of his way to make our stay the best it could possibly be. It’s apparent he knows the area well and cares about his community and guests alike. Our room was clean, cozy, warm and the bed was wonderful. The next time we’re in that area we will definitely stay at his lodge.
