We were looking for a reasonably priced place to stay near Shipshewana for our “girls getaway road trip”. My husband and I like to stay in B&Bs when we travel, but my friend had never stayed in one before. What a great first experience for her! And honestly one of the best experiences I have had as well!||The property is located right on a main road, but there really is no issue with noise. It’s a very peaceful property with horses and barns. It butts up to a golf course in the back so the scenery is beautiful.||The room was very nice with everything you could possibly need. Very homey and comfortable. It’s a beautiful old farmhouse that has been redone. The front sunroom is bright and welcoming, and this is where Ruth serves her incredible Amish-quality breakfasts. Light and fluffy pancakes, sausage, egg and cheese casserole, fresh fruit with honey glaze, orange Julius and coffee. We ate so much we skipped lunch altogether! Ruth is a very welcoming and attentive host, and we enjoyed her company at breakfast.||There is a Kurig, tea and cocoa mix available throughout the day, and a huge deck out back to enjoy the horses, garden and view.||If you visit Shipshewana Indiana... I highly recommend you stay at the Meadows Inn. I have stayed in B&Bs all over the country, and I can honestly say this was one of the most enjoyable stays!...

Ruth provided us with great tips of places to visit, things to do, and even helped us set up dinner with a local Amish family and a buggy ride! Something I've Always wanted to do. Ruth's fresh, homemade breakfasts are superb, and include things like homemade grape juice, various types of baked breakfast casseroles, yogurt parfaits that I normally would touch but have to admit were great! I went to this area specifically to disconnect a bit and get some R & R, knowing in advance that most places shut down between 4 - 6:00pm. Even restaurants close around 7 - 8:00pm. Some of our favorite places were the Country Lane Bakery, Blue Gate's buffet, and Dutch Country Market, and Yoder's Meat & Cheese. I Strongly recommend you being a cooler or insulated bags with ice packs so you can stock up on some of the areas fresh meats and dairy products. If you're looking for things to do at night, check out the calendar at the Blue Gate Theatre and buy your tickets in advance. We would've attended a comedy show but it...
