We enjoyed our time at this beautiful campground, which is close to Shipshewana. We were welcomed by friendly staff. Ice cream/Frozen Custard stand is located within the park. Campsites are large and streets are big rig friendly. The cabins located within this park are nested within the tress. Our campsite needed some minor leveling. DirecTV (free standing satellite) had no issue getting a signal. Wi-Fi was weak and not reliable. Verizon phones got a strong 4g signal. Campground is close to town with many shops, restaurants and gas stations. Campground is about 10mins from I80 highway. The surrounding street noise which leads into town is heard throughout the park, but was minor. Campground had large open fields for tent camping and picnics. Bathroom could use some TLC. We recommend visiting the RV Hall of Fame, which is nearby, and the Blue Gate Restaurant. Amish stores, farms and restaurants surrounding the area.
Our family is currently traveling this beautiful country via RV style, and have been RV'ing for many years. Therefore, we have an idea between high-standard qualities and poor quality. Read moreMy brother’s really liked this place the first time and they got to stay in a cabin for two nights. That was year ago. The whole family wanted to go camping in Shipshewana, Indiana. I made reservations for one basic cabin and one basic tent site. I made my reservations a month ago. Last night we get there and I also called to let them know that we we’re on our way. We get there and the man at front desk says my credit card has been declined. I’m like I know I had enough money on there for campsite and cabin. Then my mom tried to call the office she said that he kept asking if she wanted to cancel lots of time’s also telling her that he can’t refund the money if she canceled. She said no I didn’t went to cancel. Then called again trying just to get a cabin he did not even pick up the phone so we could have somewhere to sleep on top of that we had two dogs with us. No pets are allowed in the cabins that’s the stupidest rule ever. They should change it. It took us a little longer to find a hotel that could accommodate us because we had our pets. We ended up staying at Hampton inn in Middleberry Indiana for one night. $20-30 per night per pet and that’s a lot. I’m not going back there again. That man was not very nice at all. That man...
Read moreCamped here for the start of the week to check out the flea market in Shipshewana. Pulled in and went to the office to check in. Staff was very friendly and helpful check in was quick and efficient. Campsites were decently spaced and easy to back into. Pine trees along the side and rear of sites are nicely trimmed up and out of the way. You will want to bring along a patio mat to lay down as the grass this time of year is pretty sparse and the ground is mostly sandy soil. May want to also bring along a 30 amp extension cord as well as the electrical boxes are oddly placed and may either be far away or on the other side of your camper than what you are used to. When using the air conditioner & water heater keep an eye on your power meter as mine was running right around 99 volts, went ahead and kicked the water heater over to propane & the voltage came back up a bit to around 102 volts, just something to keep in mind in case you have sensitive electronics. Bathrooms are very clean and well stocked as well as the laundromat. Also a nice feature that there is an ice cream store right on the property to get a quick cool treat to end a hot summer day the right way. Wifi is available and actually works well even with a 75%...
