We spent 3 nights in a 2-bedroom condo at Ke Nani Kai and loved it. You actually feel fairly remote, as the resort is quite dead as a result of the failed development there. Many of the buildings around the resort have been condemned, others are long vacant, and the golf course has reverted back to nature. However, this just added to its attractiveness for us – lots of great photo opportunities! It’s about a 30min drive from the main town and there’s not much in between. Thankfully there is a small, well-stocked shop on site for most of your basics, but no restaurants. There are plenty of interesting and pretty much totally deserted beaches within easy walking distance. ||||Our condo was nice and comfortable with plenty of light and a large balcony. There was no AC, but plenty of fans and nice air flow through the unit when the breeze blows (which is most of the time). There was a big TV with a 1000 channels as well as streaming services, and the Wifi internet was strong and dependable. The bedrooms and bathrooms were roomy and well-outfitted. We also loved having a washer/dryer combo. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you might need, plus more! We made up quite a few dinners here and found it had everything we required.||||We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again. Can’t really cite any negative experiences. Highly recommended to all travelers looking for a great base for their Molokai...

Read moreIf you are looking for somewhere to be left alone, then this is your place. Yes, some of the condos are outdated (others, like ours, is not). The grounds could use a little bit of love but overall a nice place.
Our one bedroom unit was well equipped. The pool is a short walk and is in great shape. The hot tub the same. There is a little store just down the road. The prices are a bit high and selection light, but given the geographic location that is to be expected. The units do not have AC but with the trades AC is not necessary really.
There are beaches nearby. If you come in the winter, these beaches are for looking at only. They rock and roll well into April and they have lots of rocks. The days when they are calm, they would make for good snorkeling. The sunsets here at these beaches are excellent. The sun goes down over O'ahu, which is a hard sight to beat...and the nights are clear, allowing you to see tons of stars.
The folks working here are, for the most part, nice. You get the occasional grumpy worker but we all have bad days.
As for location....you are miles from anywhere. The biggest town is about a 25-30 minute drive. If you want or need groceries, get them in town before coming here.
Be mindful of the aina and the animals. The axis deer here are everywhere (appx. 60k of them on this island and only 8k people!). Like any other deer, they seem to look for cars to drop in front of....and they...
