AmericInn by Wyndham Bay City — Hotel in Monitor Township

Not Great in all honesty. My Husband paid for a pet friendly place. He double checked when booking my room that I would have a Handicapped room. I arrived for my check in and the Employee behind the desk was very Distasteful. No Handicapped room for me and I was put in a room on the second floor. NO Elevator. I am disabled, I had already driven over 1000 miles to get here to see my Daughter whom I have not seen in years. I was already in a lot of pain but the stairs were horrible on me in my current state. I had asked that if a Handicapped room became available if I could be moved to that room. She treated me curtly. I was not at all feeling welcomed! She said online orders don't link up to the computer in the hotel properly. I Honestly did not want to stay here after her very rude interactions with me. My Husband had Called my reservation for 6 nights in over the phone. Explain that. For a smoke free facility offering clean air as something they are proud of, Why at 10:00 pm did it smell like someone had just smoked a joint in the hallway outside my room door? No staff delt with that on their own accord. The Continental Breakfast is ok. No scrambled eggs, no biscuits and gravy. Yes you can make waffles. Yes you can add packets of instant Oatmeal to hot water provided. There is apple or orange juice options and coffee. Not a satisfied customer here. The cleaning not great. The same 2 goldfish crackers are Still sitting In the hallway since I moved into the ground floor level room 3 days ago. In the hallway you must walk through to get to the bottom floor rooms. Checked in to the room around 5pm (3/24) to find a bathtub with hair in it. The manager personally went and cleaned the bathtub. When I returned, the bathtub was clean, but I then noticed that the sink had ashes in it. I went to the same manager to tell her, her response was “Oh, I saw that but I tried to wipe it and it didn’t come off”. She wreaked like cigarettes so I assume she smoked in the room and got ashes in the sink since I made a complaint about the room, either way she was lying. I tried to wipe it off and it came right up, it was just ashes. See photo attached. It was worse but this is after I wiped up a couple ashes.

On 3/25 - 11:30pm rolls around and it smells like marijuana in my room. The guys next door were also being very loud so I assumed it was them. I walk out and the entire hallway wreaks of it. I see the night manager walking towards the desk (How does she not smell it?!!?) I go to the front desk to make a complaint. Other guests out of their room also commented as they walked through the halls. She calls the room and knocks on their door they ignore her. They then start to chain smoke cigarettes to cover the smell. All of this and the woman on duty says she doesn’t know what to do.

I have stayed at probably a hundred hotels and I have never had such a bad experience where I took the time to complain verbally and in writing. I chose to stay here because it had good reviews and the Hilton-DoubleTree was sold out. WORST...

We have stayed at this hotel in the past, and was OK. However, this stay saw a declining service that is unacceptable. We will no longer stay at this joint for the following reasons: The front desk clerk was asleep when we checked in at 10pm. After ringing the bell several times and then pounding on the counter, he woke to check us in! We are Wyndham Rewards Diamond members, but the Clerk would not upgrade us to a Deluxe suite, even though we confirmed suites were available. I had 2 other reservations and could not get an upgrade on any, even though we confirmed suites were available. No fruit for breakfast. The cereal was awful. The 4 cereal canister offering had 1 Fruit Loops, and the other 3 were filled with Cheerios. No Raisin Brand as labeled.. No Corn Flakes as labeled. The next day, Fruit Loops were empty, but still had 3 containers of full of Cheerios only! A mouse was seen running across the hall way! The staff was mopping the breakfast area floor while we were in the area trying to have breakfast, 20 minutes before the end of the breakfast time... pathetic! They ran out of coffee creamer and hung an "Out of Order" sign on the bin. Two members of my family had bug bites on their feet after sleeping in their room!

This is too much poor service to risk staying here again. Management appears to be too cheap to maintain the basic supplies and I don't care to have to put up...
