I have never left a review at a restaurant before. This experience started with the building so full you could barely move in the gift shop. In spite of this we were sat almost immediately. Our server was prompt and very friendly and efficient. Our food came much more rapidly than we could have expected. The final impression left was by far the best, being the cashier. Even though the line was fairly long. She got to us very quickly. She even got me to sign up for the rewards club. Something else I usually would not do. I have even been asked in other Cracker Barrels and declined. By far the cashier is an absolute God send and you are so fortunate to have her. How she was able to leave that strong of a positive impression, even when very busy. She seemed relaxed , caring and very competent. My sincerest of compliments to Laila !!! I will make it a point to visit your location again, if for no other reason than just to show appreciation for that young lady. Laila. There aren’t enough words to adequately show my appreciation. I can only wish you the best in life, as you so well deserve !!! Thank You...
Read moreMy sister and I made a date to meet at the Bay City Mi Cracker Barrel for lunch and to catch up. The minute we step through the door we're bombarded with 2 sales pitches. We are seated and order that day's special and a soft drink. 2 minutes after our food arrives, before we've tasted anything, we were asked how everything tasted. Fine, thanks(?). 3 minures later, hope you're saving room for dessert! 2 minutes later, do you need boxes and To-Go cups? OMG let's go! Now mind you, no one was waiting to be seated and less than half of the tables were in use. While waiting to pay our bills, we're hit with 2 - - - no, 3 more sales pitches. With all the restaurants nearby to chose from, you can bet we'll eat elsewhere next month and for our family holiday get togethers. This was disappointing as we've always had a pleasant experience.
2024 update: I had lunch here again recently and was not inundated with sales pitches or interrupted during dining any more than usual. It was a pleasant experience. Chicken pot pie is a new favorite. ...
Read moreYou have a few customers standing by your entrance at 7:00 AM on Fridays in Bay City Mi. A few see the doors locked and drive through. I have breakfast with my employees (4 to 8 people ) every Friday . This equates to $70.00 to $110.00 not counting tip and "good will". for my guys, their family and friends in the community. I have tentatively decided to relocate our weekly ritual. If the doors would open 10 minutes earlier would make the difference . I have to open my business at 8:00 AM, so I unlock at 7:50 AM. Your waitress "Darlene" and her associates have our table set and knows what everyone eats. They are tipped generously for our pampered attention . The message I get from your manager, through Darlene, is"Corproate" won't let us unlock early. So for the sake of a few minutes you could lose quite a bit of good will. Your image of country folks and neighbors is invalidated for the sake of 10 minutes. Please give this some thought.
