My husband, 11yr old son and myself walked in to the hotel for just one overnight stay. Since we are a Holiday express member, we always search gif this hotel. I proceeded to go to the counter and the young man asked me do you have a reservation , and si stated I didn’t big that I had called and was told there was rooms available. That was approx. 4 hours prior. So he said ohhh Oh don’t know if we have any rooms. Then looked at another employee sitting across from him at a table they have in the middle of the reception area for guests and asked her if there was a room available for us, and she stated no we do not. Also, he did did not even check in his computer system if if he did or did not. My husband felt when we got in the car that they were not being honest because the parking lot not full at all. Before leaving I asked what hotel is close by and she said you can try the Hampton I would suggest better around here. So we left and started driving towards another hotel but my husband continued searching Hilton because we are a member of Hilton as I was driving and ended up calling the same hotel to ask if any rooms available and sure enough there were 36 rooms. And I saw the address and said to my husband it’s the same hotel and we knew we were discriminated due to being Hispanic. I was furious and disappointed with this outcome and the being turned away with my son and him witness this and the call on speaker all of us listening to the representative tell us I’m so sorry this is so disrespectful. My husband said I felt the racism when we were there. I have never been treated so unfairly and this is illegal civil act 1964. I was transferred to a case manager and filed a complaint and awaiting a response as of yet. We had to drive 13 min more and stay elsewhere the rest for the night. We were visiting Jelly Stone park near by. Next time we think we will stay at a cabin there better. It is AGAINST THE LAW!!! to discriminate any human being did to their race, color or religion. Now I know how it feels. This has NEVER happened to me. J was born and raised here but even if I wasn’t it is absolutely unacceptable. I did come in to see the manager this morning n site and she was very apologetic and very...
Read moreAt check in, the front desk staff quoted a per pet daily fee. I had two dogs and told him my quote was flat rate to which he tried to convince me was “per dog” until I showed him my online booking confirmation. The room I was originally assigned was flooded under the window AC, and when I went back downstairs to tell him the carpet was wet he said he’d “have someone put a fan on it”. I left at 11am the next morning and asked the front desk to please do something about the soaked carpet, and to get me more towels and a bed set for the sofa bed as I had guests arriving. At 4:30pm when I returned none of it was done, the floor was still soaked, and when I asked about it again they moved my room. I still needed a sofa bed set and I’m not kidding when I say it took an hour to get a full set. First I was brought two pillows and a comforter, then I asked for sheets. They brought one flat sheet. I said I needed a FITTED SHEET, as this would be used as a bed. They brought a mattresss protector instead. I ended up going to my old room and taking a sheet off that bed, as I didn’t want to have to go down to the lobby AGAIN.
Both sofa beds had stuff behind them (socks, old sheets, some shampoo and a hair tie) and neither room was very clean. This is a “new” hotel. We stayed there for four nights and paid a LOT of money, never saw anyone cleaning. The lobby floor and elevator was disgusting and the carpet was stained and had dirt and food on it in the hallways. The trash out front piled up for four days, and was never attended to while we were there.
The morning we left a dog peed in the lobby on a chair during breakfast, and while we were moving stuff out to the car it sat there for an hour and a half, fifteen feet from two employees at the front desk. We left and it still had not been cleaned.
The breakfast was subpar and the coffee was gross.
If you’re traveling with dogs you’ll likely be limited, but for the high price a night I am angry. We stayed at a true budget motel on the way home that was MUCH cleaner and the property was...
Read moreOverall our 4 night stay was good but could have been better. The hotel has just been updated from it's previous run as an other brand hotel, which we can say it is MUCH better now. The hotel has been expanded with new rooms and they appear to be or are complete, the parking area appeared to be ready for repavement. The lobby and common area are complete and quite nice. While the staff was very pleasant and always available we did have several issues with our room that were never attended to or we needed to address ourselves. Breakfast was just okay. As mentioned earlier we were there 4 nights, each morning it appeared that less and less items were available. If all of the items that should have been stocked available or in some cases not stale we would be giving it a thumbs up though. Our room, again, okay. It's been updated but it has been treated hard, scratches on the desk and the carpet frayed all along where it met the tile. It was our opinion it should be given a better cleaning occasionally, dust in the corners and along baseboards but that is just us, the average single overnight guest probably wouldn't notice. Didn't use the pool so no comment there but there is a small gym with what appeared to be new equipment. When it was available I did use it, I say available in a good way it was used frequently and it always seemed like someone was using the equipment I wanted to use. I would really like to give this hotel a 4.5 out of 5 (somewhere between a 4 and 5) updated hotel and all of the staff very nice but I have to go down to somewhere between a 2 and 3 (like a 2.75) ONLY because of the issues we had with our room never being addressed and the disappointment with the breakfast. As I said, Nice...
