This was my second trip to the Tickle Pink Inn. The first one was 18 years ago. My husband and I remembered it so fondly we dreamed of returning and when our kids headed off to college, we came back. The location was beautiful. We paid for an upgraded room, room 35, touted for its fabulous view, picked for this and its location right next to the new spa hot tub which looked over the ocean. Unfortunately the management had failed to maintain the trees in front of the space, so the incredible view was largely unavailable. The small portion that was available was incredible. I would not have deducted as much as I did, but we called to see if we could be moved to a regular room as pretty much all of the other rooms had better views than we did, available throughout the room due to the layout of the hotel, but the space was filled. I would have been ok with this, things happen but I am extremely unhappy with the unwillingness to adjust our rate to offset this issue. We were offered a minimal discount, which frankly did not cover the irritation of the issue. This was the only service related issue. The other service was great. The room was a little dated. The bathroom is located right next to the bed and was on a motion sensor light, so anytime you went to the bathroom at night, the bed was bathed in a very bright light. There was no way to turn this off. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were either hard or lumpy. For a hotel of this caliber, I would hope you would update these items which make such a difference in the overall enjoyment of the space. The hot tub looked lovely, unfortunately, it was actually not open while we were there, which was frustrating as well. There is a lovely wine and cheese happy hour and breakfast is included, with more options than you would expect on a continental breakfast. Breakfast is also available for delivery to your room for no additional cost. Lots of good things, but in our case, the bad was pretty significant. I included pics the area on the patio to the left is what was visible and it was amazing, the area to the right shows the view due to overgrowth and the last is the view from the bed. The room above us did have the amazing view and was clearly worth every penny. The lack of response to the issue is a large part of the bad...
ย ย ย Read moreSimply divine! Nestled above the waves and beaches of Carmel, CA, this is a little slice of heaven. Especially if you are in love or falling in that direction :) My fiance surprised me with a weekend get away to Tickle Pink and it did not disappoint!
From the delightful staff at check in until the breakfast delivery on the last morning, we were treated with warmth and efficiency.
This place is so romantic inn every way. Plush furnishings, champagne, truffles and roses dotted throughout our stay.
An absolutely delicious wine and cheese reception daily;4:30-6pm, was a real treat and complimentary to boot. Fresh cheeses, bread, crackers, olives, fruit, and more. Accompanied by very enjoyable white and red wines.
The views and private sitting areas throughout the resort were perfect for tender moments alone to connect and unwind.
Fire pits and windbreaks made even the coastal evenings comfortable. We revelled in the beautiful sunset in comfort.
There's a gym on site and rooms have amenities; Nespresso machines, fridges, sounds machines, flat screen tvs, a generous tub and roomy bathroom. Sun Deck balcony facing the sea with comfy chairs. Morning nook for sharing a yummy Continental breakfast in your room or you can choose to go to the lovely Terrace Room to share breakfast with other guests.
For dinners there are many excellent restaurants nearby, one easily strolled to next door at the Highland Inn; Pacific's Edge.
Tickle Pink Inn has two outdoor hot tubs, one with a fabulous view of the ocean and the other more secluded in a beautiful garden setting.
We totally enjoyed our stay and plan to return for anniversarys and any other excuse we can...
ย ย ย Read moreI would have given it 5 stars as everything was quite nice.. BUT THE TV SITUATION IS ABYSMAL. Like for what we paid (I realize it's the tub the room the view. The and wifi situation was really disappointing and the TV situation was absolutely deplorable.. Basic cable, no netflix-esque apps, a streaming option to stream from a computer that was deplorable. I mean this would have all been 5 stars if I could have just had HDMI as an option or a more sustainable streaming method VERY VERY disappointing. Now obviously you don't go to a place like this to watch television, that's not why you pick this place. You pick this place because of the breath taking view, the amazing room and bathroom. The food was also pretty mediocre, there was a real lack of room service options (this isnt bad because it encourages ordering from the local restaurants) but it was really disappointing in a pinch when you wanted something late to munch on. The breakfast buffet was DISAPPOINTING. I would have liked some plain ass scrambled eggs the rest was mids at best. Also the smoking areas SUCKED too far away from the rooms too much stairs and walking to get have a cigarette in a crappy little bench falling apart in the parking lot that was hugely disappointing! I'm still giving it a high rating because you can't possibly imagine the view and the room. But I wanted to give an honest review. Again BREATHTAKING doesn't even begin to describe the view but, I would hope sincerely someone there sees this and improves on some of these complaint points. Again you aren't going for the food, the smoking amenities or the TV but don't go there expecting those to...
