we have had a wonderful 9 day stay at Mountain View Campground. (late april 2019)
the sites are spaced slightly above the norm and are easy to level up with just a little effort. great power quality and water pressure with no odor. great placement of power, water & septic. good wi-fi signal around the whole camp. and functional speed for basic tasks.
it’s a smaller facility but well laid out, and with 2 pools, it is more capable to handle guests than most campgrounds we’ve been to.
the owners are wonderful and you can tell they are working hard to keep this place clean and classy.
beautiful sunrises over the nice river in back.
every site has a picnic table & fire ring.
negatives, are no pull throughs. but there just isn’t enough land here to do that.
convenient town 3 miles away with a couple grocery stores as well as Enterprise car rental that routinely picks up at the campground. (which we used during our stay)
and, of course, some of the most amazing hikes & beautiful waterfalls around the Stowe area.
some campgrounds are relaxing destinations and some are just powered-up parking lots. places to sleep while you go out for adventure. Mountain View Campground is the former.
we had a unique situation where we were looking for a campground in the Stowe area that was opened at the end of April. Even though the camp wasn’t officially open for the season yet (and was busy getting ready) they still let us come. we look forward to returning one day in the summer or fall so we can experience the campground in warmer weather.

Read moreWorst camping experience ever! We stayed here this year as a whole family of 9 people. After we checked in at the main lodge we had a change in plans and needed to add another camper to our group. We tried to explain to the woman at the front desk (who was extremely nice) that we needed to pay and she kept saying that we were all set to check in. So we drove our cars down to the river tent sites, set up camp and went up to the pool to relax with the kids, while my wife took a nap in our tent. While up by the pool we saw the owner speed down to our camp site and start yelling through the tent for someone to come out and pay for the extra tent we had set up. After my wife told him we were up by the pool he sped up and started yelling at my mother saying "you guys are taking advantage of me, this is a business and you need to pay for the extra person" we simply went in and paid explaining that we had tried to do that in the first place but the woman told us we were all set. The owner is rude, arrogant and a bully we stayed there at least once a year while I was growing up and it's unacceptable to be treated the way he treated us. I will never return and I advise you to look elsewhere for a relaxing vacation. He completely ruined our week...
