Shamrock Motel — Hotel in Mount Carmel

I was told that I have a two beds room cause that's all they have but I cannot sleep on other bed . I have to buy my own toilet paper , cannot have any company at all, clean my own room take out my own trash and if I don't have towels wash rags up there by 11 I don't get any new ones went at 1117 and refuse to give me new ones and can't have a room key cause no 5 dollar deposit so my room is for two weeks and and I had help cause I was homeless at time and they should not be allowed to do this to people and a month ago was taking shower had bathroom window opened and got out and the owner is in the window tell me to not open windows anymore if u rent a room don't u think u should be able to do anything you rented the room and to make me feel lower then anyone cause Im homeless sad very sad disrespectful rude and invasion...

Owner was very very nice. Talked for a little bit and he had just bought the old motel and is in the process of remodeling so it isn't perfect but you can definitely tell they are trying to make it a nice place. The room we had was very clean, it had new furniture, brand new bedding, and brand new carpet. It did have a scent, but after the AC was on for a few minutes it was gone. Outside the flower beds were empty, but obviously in the process of being filled. New asphalt seal on the parking lot. More small things that the average person might not see. But it is definitely an old place. Only thing that was a bummer for us was it didn't have a coffee pot which isn't a necessity, but we asked and he said it's on his list of things to do. We were happy with our stay here and...

Customer service is a big deal to me. These folks get it. They are polite and respectful.

If you can look past the age of the property, you will see that they doing the best that anyone can do plus some to make this hideaway rustic and cozy.

They actually come out every night to turn on each porch light individually. That's dedication.

Location only gets a low rating based on the fact that the town is a dead zone for cellphone signal. Couldn't even roam.

This is almost impossible to live w/out in today's world.

Not sure what WiFi configuration they have but just two relay routers spaced evenly under the porch awning would solve the problem of not being able to get wifi in the rooms.

Hopefully it's not lead paint...
