Travelodge by Wyndham Dunsmuir — Hotel in Mount Shasta

Clean and QUIET hotel. Dog friendly. Beds are comfortable; we prefer firm, but soft beds. The water pressure was amazing in shower. Mini fridge, microwave, and decent sized TV in rooms.

The hotel runs a 24 hour diner, which is the best when you're too tired to find food after a long drive. Dinner was decent, but breakfast was delicious. The diner gets pretty busy, so make sure to order ahead. The staff are very nice. Definitely small town feel because people running the place are very welcoming. Very impressive business being run because the waitress for the diner is also the front desk for the hotel. Please be nice to them because they're doing a million things at once! I no longer trust the Wyndham name||||Scrupulously clean. ||Comfortable bed. ||Nice room furnishings. ||Spacious room. ||Good WiFi. ||Cleaning staff very helpful. ||But it’s hard to recommend this facility because:||The main entry door keycard malfunctions. It takes 4-5 keycards tries to open the door. Room door opens fine. This really needs to be fixed!!!||Drip in bath tub. ||Not having elevator is hard on older guests (that’s me) with luggage. ||Check-in at the diner across the parking lot is an odd economizing choice and it took awhile. ||Rooms weren’t ready for some guests with reservations who arrived just as I did. ||Toilet seat must be held open to stay upright. ||I had to use my knife to open the plastic covering of the bar soap. ||The bathtub looked sketchy so I showered. ||Lots of little...

I booked my reservation through a website and I checkin after 4pm and my room wasn’t ready. My brother and I was waiting for almost an hr. When the room was ready the lady did not apologize for the inconvenience how I was waiting. She rudely explained to me out loud about the smoking and pet policy and anything destroyed in her rooms will be charged. I seen other people come in before I checked in as I waiting she did not explain to them about the smoking policy and the charges she was more friendly to them than me. I felt I was being treated differently. It really made me feel so uncomfortable.
