Mountain Empire Motel — Hotel in Mountain City

This hotel so full of bed bugs I got bed bugs bites all over me that itch and sting and some of the employees are so rude to the customer and never ask for help the bad employees cuss you just to get you cuss back and when you speak to employee and they tell you not speak to them and you try talk to them they tell you not speak to the point they get you to cuss on purpose and get you to point of crying and I gotten bed bugs bites all over my body that itch and sting They grass in parking lot parking looks trashy and don't think if you take up for friend or take up for your self weather cussing involved or not on either party that they be on your side they not because they never are and they four employees here and one employee in particular is rude to customers and they are folk that live here that owe a lot money to this hotel and they still here how are they let to stay for free my friend pays the rent here two days early every week so the rent here not be owed but a lot folk here owe lot rent way over thousand dollars and getting to stay for free how can hotel make money when they let some folks stay free and I got proof they let some stay free when they owe way over thousand dollars and they got not authority here except employees and night manager they going through change to try get some one here They man and his family that high up authority over here but only come check every now and then most time they gone and only check in by calling or what's app and get reports daily sent to them that's why they don't know everything that goes on here with man and his family authority been gone most time they good employees and bad and the bad employees are rude to customers and folk getting eat up with bed bugs and even if bug man comes once month still eat up with bed bugs It's bad here and bad employees not the good ones tell you not talk to them and how can you do anything if you can't talk some folk here mistreated and some given special treatment at this hotel I don't understand this or anything else that they do that bad to folk here They skip rooms in back building to clean long time then say they go clean them and still some rooms back in back building not been cleaned Yet but they keep putting them off to they finally clean them so they don't get in trouble and they always clean rooms front building put off back building to they finally do it and I wish I was treated good here but they one bad employee that's always rude to me and rude to some others too he good to some folks and some folks he bad to how can you keep folks coming here to pay for room or rooms if you bad to them out of four employees they one who really bad and it's not my friend I'm talking about either The one who wears his hat back wards that employee who mistreats me and gets by with it because he's a employee And can say not talk to him but what if my friend not available then I have to talk to him Folks are human need be treated with respect If treated with respect most time folk respect back But parking lot nasty and bed bugs in rooms bad I can't give a good report and I'm sorry that bad employees bad to me and to some others not all others to to some others You shouldn't mistreat folks God is my savior I trust in him They finally did some of back rooms yesterday After long time not doing back rooms and skipping them and putting them off they finally do some back rooms yesterday still parking lot trashy and still lots and lots bed bugs I got places all over me bed bugs are bad and got bed bugs bites all over me . One of the guests is weed eating more now Get told yeah if that guest weed eat they take 35 dollars off his rent of what he owes I'm itching bad today with all these bed bugs bites from here Like say that guy gets weed eat to get 35 dollars off his rent What about all the other folk that owe They not telling them they can do something here to get it taken off their rent it should be for for all who owes Things going on here and can do that for one who owes they are See even that...

BEWARE!!! We had stayed here, and the rooms were terrible. Within 5 minutes of being there we saw a cockroach crawl into one of our drinks. There were many dead roaches laying around, not to mention the plenty of live ones we saw. This is clearly formally a Best Western hotel (or something similar) which had been purchased, and the owners are doing the very minimal at best to do some repairs. We clearly will never stay there again. I read another review saying that the rooms were clean. That review clearly had to be the owner or a family member trying to boost their ratings, the rooms were FAR from clean. Also the pictures on their website are absolutely not representative of how the rooms actually look. If you do choose to stay here, ask to look at the room first....you;ll see what I am talking about!! Never Again!!! A response from the owner is below. My response: I assure you that I do not have the wrong motel. I have attached a picture of your hotel and you can also see the pizza plus . I am not surprised that you do not have a record of my friend and I staying there. When we checked in the gentleman there told us $60 and I watched him put the money in his pocket. There was no cash register, as there was a lot of reconstruction going on, there was hardly even a counter there. So needless to say, there was no formal check in with names, or plate numbers given. Great value for what you pay! From what I've inferred back in the day this was the place to stay. Well times change and we've all seen the world change probably way too much. However, the price here is from way back and doesn't break the bank!

The rooms aren't luxiourious or amazing but they are economical and give you what you need! In no way we're the rooms nasty or filthy. The AC was nice and cold, the view of the mountains was amazing, and the smell of pizza from the local pizza place across the way was great!

The owner and his superintendent are extremely nice and are beyond accommodating! From what I inferred they are in the process of renovating the place and bringing it back to life. The area was hit hard by Hurricane Helene but they have recovered so much you wouldn't even notice but sadly tourism has slowed down due to what the Hurricane Helene did.

Mountain City TN is beyond such a pleasant and nice place! People here are so very kind and you'll feel right at home. There's a lot to do outdoors and Watuaga Lake is right down the road and if you need some night life Boone NC is 30 min away and Johnson City TN is about an hour.

Above all though, give this place a chance! Let's get Mountain City and this place back to the top so you and yours can come to Mountain City TN and make memories that'll...
