I want to give a big shout out to the entire Blanchard Springs Parks and Recreation team!! We were camping in the upper loop on 7-16-24 when the area of 56 received near 17 inches of rain. We abandoned our beautiful campsite along with all of our camping gear after 2 hours of heavy down pour, hearing trees all around us fall. We grabbed the truck keys and ran/ drove up the 3 mile hill. We had to move what branches we could and ran over the others. The following morning, Wednesday, was filled with anxiety, sadness and thankfulness. We made our way down the Hwy 5 hill from Mountain View to where the Syllamore Creeks and the White River meet at Allison, to find raging waters sweeping campers from Holiday Mountain Resort Campground. Filled with anxiety, we could only imagine all of our camping gear being swept away all the way down to the river. Saddened by the acceptance that everything we had was gone, we were thankful to speak with Karen in the Blanchard Springs Caverns Visitor’s Center who assured us the water did not get up to our campsite. Once, we made our way down the hill, all gates were locked preventing access to the campground. Luckily, the Blanchard Spring Parks and Recreation maintenance team got us across the flooded low water bridges and to our relief all of our gear was spared! The Blanchard team helped us get in and out of the campground to go to town and get supplies to wait out the receding waters. Once camp was clean, we enjoyed a morning with the entire upper swim area to ourselves, not to mention the entire campground!! What was a complete disaster, was a moment in paradise, thanks to Blanchard Springs Parks and Recreation Center Crew!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!

Read moreQuit, wooded campground. they have flushing toilets. Spacious tent/RV space. Far from traffic noise. Great location near the springs and cave. Minus one star for first come, first serve in a remote location. A lot of people driving around before dark looking for a campground when they were full. No electricity or water at each camp site. Electricity in restrooms and a few community water stations. Consider this: -They have flushing toilets and daily restroom cleaning -Great location -Plenty of space between sites -1st come, 1st serve. -Smoke lingers as it's surrounded by hills
**Just a note to fellow campers-- please respect quiet time. We were woken to chopping wood at 6:15am. I think someone was burning pine. Very smokey. Stick to...
Read moreThis is a nice camping spot. Now I'm not sure why but the wifi never picked up for me. I may have been not doing it properly. They have a few pull thru sites. All of the tent sites were a decent size. The restrooms were clean. Once the women was closed for some type of repairs. The swimming areas are absolutely gorgeous. I suggest water shoes. The rocks are smooth but not too fun to walk on. Water depths vary from shallow to deep enough to dive off the rocks. If you stop up at the visitor center they are very helpful. Good variety of activities to keep busy with...
