Take It Easy Resort has many lessons to learn when it comes to customer service. The resort is well maintained for the most part and the cabins are clean. We stayed in the lighthouse as a party of 6 and were a little cramped. The house is not set up well for children. We were on edge the entire stay between a slamming front door and very steep and open staircases to get to the bedroom. The downstairs toilet flushed on occasion and the smoke alarm went off every time we turned on the stove or oven. We reserved the pontoon boat for 2 days. Once we arrived and saw the condition of the boat (very old, leaking floor and etc.) and boat dock (difficult to get to mostly due to flooding) we thought maybe 1 day of boating would be enough. Casey, the owner assured us we didn’t need to decide on the boat as no one else was interested in booking the boat during our stay. Long story short we took the boat for a day and a half and then were charged for more due to a supposed reservation. When I went over my receipt at home, I sent a text addressing the mistake. Mindy called me and proceeded to shout at me and talk over me about the charge. It was a 100.00 difference. I honestly, thought it was charged by mistake. Once I spoke with Mindy, she then text me to never contact them again. Mind you we are paid in full and I hadn’t even asked her to refund the 100.00.
Furthermore, I was disturbed that the owners went through our laundry in the laundry room and asked why we had washed one of the throw blankets...ummm what?! Overall, we enjoyed our trip to Norfolk Lake but beware of this resort.
I just have to address the reply. As I don’t take being called a liar lightly.
Our “7th” was my 2 year old.. We didn’t fall asleep while pizzas were in the oven..we simply said our 2 year old was worn out from the day and we didn’t attend the pizza social We left the boat exactly as we found it and filled the tank both times at the nearest Marina(Panther) Casey (owner) called the blanket a throw, I only repeated what I heard him say. Blanket was not peed on by anyone. It was damp from wet clothes that had been placed on it. When I went to retrieve it from the laundry room it was gone. I could continue, bottom line..the experience was ok until I called to question about an additional charge and was screamed at and...
Read moreI visited Take it Easy Resort for my spring break! I went with my mom on a mother daughter trip and fell in love with the location. It felt like we were in our own little village and that society was miles and miles away, but in fact we were only 10 minutes from the nearest Walmart. The owners of the resort were amazing and helpful. They also have two black lab mixes that are amazing with people! I wanted to take them home with me, but they wouldn’t let me haha. In the cabins you get your own kitchen and it is supplied with everything you need except the food :) Each cabin also has their own grill. On the property there is a laundry facility, and they were planning to put in a grocery store with a few things that people may need. I am not sure if that is open yet, but it was in their plans. Also on the property is a pretty gazebo. The owners had recently bought the resort and were adding a lot of fun activities to do like mountain bikes, stand up paddle boards, jet skis, pontoon, and other boats. They have a private dock and there are a few bike trials in the location. Everything is really clean and there's air conditioning. I can honestly not wait to get back because when we visited it was a little too cold to do activities like paddle boarding. I loved Kathleen, Jeff, and their puppies!!! They truly made me want to go back and visit them and their resort...
Read moreMy family just returned from our first stay at this fine resort and it was a delightful experience! I am a writer, and here are my words to describe this treasure of a resort: tranquil, immaculate, cozy, tastefully decorated, well-maintained, picturesque, beautifully landscaped, and gracious hosts! It's where one goes for a peaceful respite in God's country, where deer cross the meadows and chew on tree limbs only yards from your cabin, and the only sounds are squirrels in the trees and owls hooting at night. The cabins have spacious screened-in porches overlooking the bluffs and ours had a lovely view of Lake Norfork. The cove and fishing dock below is an easy trek or drive from the cabins. I highly recommend "Take It Easy Resort" as a relaxing get-away where you can "get back to nature" and rejuvenate with friends or family. Kudos to the owners, John and Deanna Van Eps. We look forward to staying with you again soon! Lynn Richardson, Author, Lynn Richardson Books,...
