I'm really confused by a lot of these reviews. Our time spent here was really great. We traveled from Indianapolis to stay here for snowmobiling.
Our room was HUGE - practically an apartment. You have a small living room, fridge, microwave, bathroom with tub and shower, and a separate room with a king sized bed.
Even though the hotel was full, no vacancy, we never heard our neighbors. It was a really peaceful stay. Everything was clean and although the building is older, it was obvious that it was well taken care of and loved.
I see a lot of people complaining about the bed but I really think what is happening is folks go out to atv, snowmobile, ski, whatever and come back sore. They go to sleep and wake up more sore but it's 100% not the bed, it's just the good feeling of being worn out from physical activity. That bed was amazing after a busy busy day.
I also appreciate that they are so dog friendly. We brought our malamute along and he had a blast. All the folks on property were happy to see him and the pet charge was completely reasonable.
There is a breakfast/dinner available on the property and both are really well done. They were so tasty and warm. The servers were so friendly! There was also a rental barn on the property so when our old sleds died, we were able to quickly rent new ones so we never slowed down.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely come back...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE Hotels website advertised a pub, restaurant, sauna, hot tub and pool and ALL were closed. I called on a Friday to make reservations the following Sunday through Wednesday and the woman on the phone charged us the full price and didn't tell me that any of the advertised amenities were closed. This was a guys trip and we were very unhappy with the hotel. I couldn't have even allowed my wife and kid to stay here for a night. We stayed for just one night of our 3 night stay and left. Kris at the front desk was incredibly rude when we complained about all of the close amenities and she displayed some of the worst customer service imaginable. After leaving the hotel and finding somewhere else we asked all of the locals at pubs and restaurants what they thought about the Cherrywood Lodge (sign out front says Econo Lodge) and all of the locals said that they have heard nothing but terrible things about it and that they would never stay there.
Do yourself a favor and don't waste your...
Read moreWe had reserved 3 rooms but when one of our group was ill we canceled one room, we were informed that we were 2 hours late of the "48 hour" cancellation period and we would have to pay for the room. We didn't think that was right but kind of understood the position that we made a reservation and they shouldn't loose money. When we arrived we found out they were sold out and asked to refund our money. The manager was rude and berated us by saying "you really are not going there are you". We simply asked for the room we were charged for or our money back or a credit. She informed us we didn't deserve a refund or a room. I won't be back. A positive note, the restaurant was good and the staff was dining staff...
