Awesome Stay – Peaceful, Relaxing, and Unique 🌿🍷🔥

Wine Trail Wilderness was an awesome getaway. The location is quiet, scenic, and tucked right in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest. The drive in, past the wineries and winding roads, set the tone for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

The property is beautiful and full of character—from the straw-bale home that feels like a cozy villa to the cool converted grain bin “GrainZebo.” We loved sitting around the fire pit, sharing stories and laughs. You can tell a lot of care went into creating a space that feels both welcoming and one-of-a-kind.

This was our first hip camp experience and we loved this location. Its on the Southern Illinois wine trail w/ 2 very close by wineries. There were approximately 10 campsites spaced very far apart and all were very nice w/ meadow and woods views. There is a hiking trail through the woods connecting the meadows and we enjoyed evening and morning walks. It was so dark at night we didn’t need our black out shades. Absolutely beautiful! John has this set up so nicely and thoughtfully. From the moment we pulled up he made us feel welcome. Great spot, peaceful, quiet. I could go on and on. If you are looking to just get some rest in a beautiful setting this is worth a stop
