My wife and I have visited Nantucket many times over the years and our preferred place to stay is the Nantucket Inn. We very much like the layout, the nicely landscaped courtyards, privacy, and affordability relative to other more expensive places to stay particularly in the prime summer season. The Inn is conveniently located close to the airport and is a short 3 mile drive away from the Nantucket town center. For guests who choose not to rent a vehicle, the Inn offers complimentary shuttle services throughout the day and evening into town and to the beaches. The Inn staff can also arrange for bicycle rentals. The Inn property is well maintained by an excellent staff of very pleasant and friendly people who wish to ensure a comfortable environment and memorable stay. A special shout out to Carolyn at the front desk, Fisher at the bar, and Dave the all around staff member, but all the Inn’s staff are very much focused on providing excellent guest services. The rooms are nicely designed, pleasantly decorated, comfortable and functional. Our only complaint is that the A/C unit in our room was somewhat noisy but it worked fine. |Nantucket Inn has a lovely indoor pool with ample space to lounge, a nice outdoor pool, too, and a very good cafe in the lobby that offers a variety of food options. We especially liked the avocado toast with an egg on top. Delicious and healthy!|One can stay at any of Nantucket’s higher- end and more expensive hotels and guest houses, but for our purposes the Nantucket Inn is hard to beat. We hope that the new owners of the Nantucket Inn will resume the operation of the full service onsite restaurant in the next...
Read moreGot two rooms for business on the island, one single and one double. The single had a beautiful stand-up shower and big pillow like bed. The double had smaller beds but the same comfortable beds and a tub, but the tub was only big enough for a child 6 and under to enjoy because the depth was way too low and the tub was too small for an adult. The mirrors were clean, but both refrigerators were completely frozen over, and it took a full 24 hours before being able to use them. At that time, we were already packing to go back home for the next day. Was excited for the morning buffet and the pool, but unfortunately, the pool was being gutted, and the buffet is only for on season. Getting the keys after hours was easy to retrieve and simple but the instructions on the map to find the rooms was unfortunately extremely confusing but after 20 minutes of driving and walking around all the buildings we found our rooms. Place was built right across the street from the air strip of the airport. It was a busy off-season weekend as the planes frequented the first night back and forth. Across the street the other way from a super nice and cheap Mexican restaurant cheapest, most delicious food for groups of people, literally the most and only affordable thing on the island. For the price paid for two days definitely...
Read moreAlthough it is a 15-minute van ride from downtown, it is a newly renovated warm and lovely inn. Our room was excellent with a big bathroom and a sink outside of it as well as comfy beds and a plushy side chair. I stayed here with a group. I would have asked for a handicapped room since the long stairs to our room in the very first building was challenging. The bar was inviting with a peasant and competent bartender. The front desk was always helpful. There is an indoor and outdoor pool although we did not use either. There is, in fact, a changing area in the women's bathroom adjacent to the pool. There is a cafe for lunch and breakfast in the lobby which we did not visit. We had group meals and they were OK. Pasta with oil was missing cheese. No bread served with dinners. Service was friendly. Gratis vans ran every quarter past the hour and were sometimes doubled for our large group. I understood these had a dollar fee in the past, but a grant made them gratis this season. There is a very small gift shop with candy, beverages and some T-shirts. I'd...
