This is second time we have stayed at this hotel. First time was in a handicap accessible room. This time we were here for 3 nights. We had a regular 2 queen beds on the 7th floor. Had a number of issues with the room: Inadequate lighting. At night it was like sitting in a dark dungeon. There is one ceiling fixture by the door. twin lights between the beds, and one goose neck spot lamp on the desk. That is all there is for light. The dresser with the large flat screen tv above it has no light. It really needs a bar light over the TV that will light the top of the dresser. The bathroom did have ample lighting. The TV is connected to an internet system that does not carry the local ABC, NBC, CBS nor FOX channels. Lots of other programming stations. Some requiring you to pay for access. I asked at the desk why I couldn't get local stations. Desk person didn't know, but one of the workers said she could get them. She came up and said the channels that I was getting is what you get. Thus, NO LOCAL STATIONS. That is totally unacceptable for any Hampton Inn. Never ran into this at other Hampton Inns. If this is what they are switching to, I may stop frequenting Hampton Inns. Desk chair does not rise high enough to work at the desk. Had to add a couple pillows to the chair seat to have a comfortable hight to use my laptop on the desk. Hampton's new designed doors for the bathrooms is a rolling barn door style. This room's door had a resistor on the roller bar that helped keep the door closed when it was in the closed position. It was difficult to open that door from inside the bathroom. The small fingers inset to pull the door open was not adequate to open the door. I had to push door out so I could get my fingers around the edge of the door in order to push the door open. I have had different problems with this style bathroom door at other Hampton Inns over the past 4 years. They have changed the design a few times since the original rolling barn door design. I did stay at a Hampton Inn during this trip where to door was easy to open and close. NOT THIS HAMPTON INN!!
The GOOD. The free breakfast was good. There were ample choices and adequate tables and chairs to accommodate all the folks. Serving time during the week was 6 - 9 AM. I noticed that the breakfast worker would start closing up the breakfast area at 8:45 AM. She did not wait till 9 AM to start stacking chairs on top of the tables and she closed the entrance door half way at 8:45. Even though some folks were still coming in to eat breakfast. Giving us the feeling that she was in a hurry to get out of there.
The elevators worked, when the power was on. The area lost power from storms for about an hour one evening. And again one morning for...
Read moreI was one of 5 victims of robbery. 2 men smashed all our vehicles windows to steal whatever they could find. The hotel was not interested in taking my information. I tried giving them my name and she cut me off. She said I could call the manager the next day, and handed me a business card when I asked for one. The police filed all of our reports. We stood there for hours, feeling violated and helpless. It was as if the employees were told to not get involved. During the incident, the security guard went to the back of the hotel and parked for 15 minutes while these men broke into our vehicles. When we asked why, the manager told my husband that they focus on watching over the Teslas, which are parked in the back. The repairs for my car are over $1,000. All of the vehicles that were broken into were high-end. Not Teslas, but price tags just as high. I asked the manager to refund the money for the hotel room that night. I felt that it qualified as the worst experience with any hotel for all of us. He said, "no, and they had signs that say park at your own risk." $230 for one night. Not one employee even acknowledged we were out there. They looked away when I walked back in to use the restroom. I was able to get a trash bag from one employee. Another victim found some tape in her truck. I had to drive 300 miles with 2 broken windows and glass all in my car. One of the victims wouldn't even get to see his truck until the next day. They just left it like that. No one covered the windows for him, or even called. That man was just going to find out the next day, just like we all did. We ran out of tape so we couldn't cover it. I have lost sleep every night. I don't feel safe in my car anymore. It's not something that you can put out of your mind. It was supposed to be a top hotel. You hope that when you pay that much, the place is safe. You never think this will happen, and if it does, you never expect them to ignore you or treat you like you're embarrassing them. I'm 34 and can't remember the last time I felt that. I told the cop I felt embarrassed and helpless. This hotel had just as much to do with those feelings as the 2 jerks. Go somewhere else. No room is worth such...
Read moreVisited this hotel April 2022. Love, love, love. Not sure if this is a new property or newly renovated property, but either way, it's beautiful. Included, but not pictured, is a heated pool (enclosed), gym, restaurant down the hall on the 1st floor and connected to the hotel, and a fireplace with a sitting area. Researched and selected this property, about 10 minutes north of downtown Nashville based on needs for a group of 10 adults. All of the managers at the front desk were helpful and courteous and assisted each time I asked a question. There is a little bag of treats for each Gold and Diamond Hhonors Members at the front desk. I saw housekeeping throughout most of the day, continuously cleaning floors and wiping tables as needed. Elevators were just a little slow, but not unbearable, because the hotel was sold out when we visited. Breakfast was hot and most food was available for the first 2 hours. It was refreshed as food dissipated, until closing. Bed was comfortable. Carpet was clean (family and I had 5 rooms total and I checked them all). Showers were clean. Lots of lighting throughout the hotel and rooms. If you want a view of the Nashville Skyline, try room 500 or 501 or any number in succession (100, 200, 300 etc... 101, 201, 301...). These rooms are on the corner and have lots of windows. All odd numbers throughout the hotel, face the street and front of the property. All even numbers face the rear of the property with a huge rock mountain. Highest floor is the 7th floor. Didn't hear any room noise from other guests. Parking is available on all sides of the building. Gas station and Walmart directly across the street (facing front of building). Nashville is within 10 minute drive. All local (within 3 miles from property) fast food restaurants closed around 8pm (lobby) and drive through took forever (30 to 40 minutes). Buy microwavable food and bring it to store in the fridge is the best option. Ice machine and laundry room located on each floor, most are near the elevators. I would definitely recommend. If I return to this area, I would absolutely...
