Sadly one of the worst hotel stays I've had. So many issues that both I and my friend (staying in separate rooms) encountered. My friend had stayed at this hotel pre-COVID and said it was decent back then but now neither of us would want to stay at this Hilton again.
(1) No Towel Racks! Nowhere to hang towels - unacceptable. Does Hilton want to save money so much that it can't even spend the little money to install this basic thing in its bathrooms? Like having no toilet paper holder, except that having no toilet paper holder would still be a better situation as at least toilet paper can be placed on top of the toilet. With no towel racks, the only place to put hand and face towels was on the counter (or the floor) - not the most sanitary situation. All there was was a small hook for bath towels behind the bathroom door - completely insufficient, especially with more than 1 person staying in the hotel room.
(2) Toilet paper holder - falling out of the wall!
(3) No exhaust fans in the bathrooms.
(4) The rooms are in dire need of renovation. For example, the bathtub faucets were clearly from the 1980s and kind of rusty. The bathroom countertop height no longer seems to be up to standard code - way too low, even for an average height person like me. Carpet in the rooms was overly worn out and had bubble pockets.
(5) The lighting in the bathroom of the 2nd room that I stayed in was soooo dingy - like creepy dingy. I was actually contemplating not taking a shower because it was so creepy.
(6) Bathroom doors were gross - like they are never cleaned. Sticky stuff on it. The first room I stayed in had very bad patchwork on the bathroom door.
(7) AC was too loud in the first room I stayed in.
(8) Restaurant kept telling us they did not have any of the menu items we were ordering! First night it was No pickled vegetables. Second day lunch it was first No popcorn shrimp appetizer, then No Korean short rib entre. How many times can a restaurant tell its customers it doesn't have stuff listed on its menu? I ended up ordering the Cheesesteak Sandwich (because the Korean short rib entre was unavailable) and the sandwich was not great. Waitress gave incorrect information about the type of beef inside.
(9) Even the hotel common areas aren't sufficiently updated. The ceiling in the hallway to the right of the front entrance when you walk in - square ceiling panels dating back to the (1960s / 70s / 80s?) had large dark brown spots all over it indicating serious water damage going on inside the ceiling.
(10) My friend's first hotel room smelled of sewage.
(11) Water temperatures were all out of wack. The bathroom sinks did not have cold water - just lukewarm which is kind of gross. On the flip side, the shower did not have hot water - just lukewarm!
(12) Hotel room Toiletries were inadequate. Cotton pads and Q-tips would have been good to have. The hotel did have toothpaste when I asked for it from the front desk, but the toothpaste was in a weird packaging which was difficult to use. The amount of toiletries in the hotel room was insufficient even for a single person, never mind for hotel rooms with 2 double beds that would be for up to 4 people.
Good things about the hotel: (1) The price - but I guess you get what you pay for... (2) Beds, pillows, and sheets were good. (3) Refrigerator in hotel rooms. (4) TV was big and on a swivel which was good. (5) Rooms are fairly spacious. (6) The 24/7 store on hotel ground floor with free coffee. (7) Staff...
Read moreMy husband and I reserved a balcony room for an early anniversary getaway. In July we will celebrate 33 years of marriage, but based on our work schedules we planned a mini vacation now. The hotel was very nice and in a great area. The lady who checked us in was very friendly, helpful and professional. We had never been to this area before, so I appreciated that she answered all of our questions and provided us with a list of local activities, restaurants, etc. She also thanked me for being a Hilton Honors member, gave me the gift bag of waters and explained details regarding the amenities at the hotel. She explained that we would need our key in the elevator to get to our room. (I wish I could remember her name. I even asked for her name again and still forgot. I am horrible with names.)
We were pleasantly surprised that the room was a penthouse suite. Very cool! 😁 The room was as nice as it looked online and the bed was very comfortable! It was great! I loved the large ceiling-to-floor windows and enjoyed looking out from the bed. As some mentioned, the balcony is pretty small but I still enjoyed stepping out to enjoy the view.
We pre-paid for breakfast as a part of our room. There was a good selection of food and I enjoyed looking out at the water while eating. We got it to go on the last day because we wanted to miss the traffic and the bad weather that was rolling in.
My only complaint is that one of the ladies in the restaurant was not the friendliest. I almost gave less stars because of her. I don't remember her name, but she was a shorter lady and her dark hair was in a bun. When my husband and I walked in for breakfast, she looked at us and preceded to do what she was doing on the register. A lady beside her greeted us and advised she would be right with us. The lady, with the bun, then grabbed menus and started walking away. She then stopped, turned to us and pointed across the room to advise us we could sit at the table by the window. We headed that way alone, but we weren't exactly sure which table she was referring to. She eventually came back and took our drink orders and took our breakfast tickets. We sat there for awhile waiting for her to come back. I finally got up to ask someone else where the buffet was because she didn't tell us.
One of the times when she checked in with us, I asked for a glass of water. I initially only requested orange juice. She brought it to me right away and walked away. I noticed that my water did not have ice like my husband's and there were particles floating in it. I stopped a different server and showed it to them. This other lady quickly got me another glass of ice water.
On the second day, the same lady with the bun provided us with two to-go plates. She seemed to be a little friendlier during that interaction.
Overall, it was a great stay and we would visit this hotel again if...
Read moreI had lots of problem. Starting with my room the phone was not working so I had to go down stairs to report my room was. Then in the morning the shower was overflowing I got that worked out but you have two choices on water temp Cold and boiling. I literally burned myself. I tried to adjust it and I wanted to call down but I could not why.... phone didn’t work. And my phone was dead because the charger that I plugged it into was not working. Looked to see what time it was. Oh wait no clock in the room. I was in the ballroom and notice that my desk chair was one in the same that was in the ballroom. Stained chairs and all. Of and the floor was wet as well like the carpet. I sat down on the floor to get something and my but was wet. But I also need to mention Milly in the 14 floor lounge. I have enjoyed many lounges during my stay in hotels. The views were really nice and it was clean. However Milly was the most harassing person I ever dealt with in a hotel lounge. Me and daughter used our key to open the door. She immediately stopped us and said how did you get in here. I said I used my key. She then started to tell me that I could not bring more than one person in the lounge with me. I told her that was not true everyone staying in my room of which was only me and my daughter could come in and enjoy the amenities. She then told me oh well what room are you in. I stopped her and said I do not have to stay here on the 14 floor to get this lounge. I told her I am in a room block for and event that was in the hotel however my membership status allowed me to get this privilege. And my card would not allow me access on this room unless that was the case. Mind you I have to use the key card to not only get into the room but also to get on the elevator. As I set in the room and relaxed from a long drive a lady that I knew and her child came into the lounge and she begin to harass her the same way. Let me say that there was plenty of people that came in before her. The difference is those people did not look like me and the other lady that she targeted. After she targeted that women she then went and discussed it with a hotel guest and I overheard it all. Tacky. Then a guest services brought a lady into the the lounge and offered her something to eat while they fixed her room. She then began to harass this lady as well. And the guest services person told her I am taking care of the customers while we fixed her room. She then began to follow her and ask her a bunch of questions. Again this person looked like me as well. Overall the hotel needs lots of work. Mildew smell through out. The restaurant is slow and unapologetic. Front desk staff nice but they may be just happy high on the mildew smell. I am still here for one more night but I can’t wait to leave. And I am only here for the event. Will...
