Naugatuck Motor Lodge — Hotel in Naugatuck

In a word, gross! It's dirty, pubic hair everywhere. They don't change sheets and I'd be terrified to see what is living on their bedspreads! We had to get the "jacuzzi room" and we thought well wth we'll try it out. But we had to clean it first!! The tile on the floor around the jacuzzi isn't​ sealed, so the water inevitably leaks in the cracks, well that had lead to a very musty, mildewy smell throughout the room. We had to spray febreeze throughout the room. The jacuzzi jets were really, really loud also. It's kinda hard to enjoy some time with your partner while screaming over the noise of the jets. The cable (see pics) was terrible. In this room, they had a flat screen hd television (most rooms had old ass tvs) connected with a coaxial cord. The picture was extremely grainy. We asked for a new cord, it didn't help much. We asked for additional towels, they would only give us one!! There is a fridge in the room but it barely works. The air conditioner didn't work well either. We had it blasting and it kept turning off! Just a horrible experience. We'll never, ever be back. Also they're rather expensive for a dump! I've stayed in a lot of bargain motels in CT and this is worse than most. I've only found one really, really good one and that's the Siesta motel in newington. It's pretty far from this area, but it's close to Hartford, so if you're flexible about where you stay, I'd definitely recommend it. Also, it's in a bad location. There's nothing nearby unless you want McDonald's or...

Checked in, went to room 105. The room smelled like someone just finished smoking. The walls were covered in black spot and just looked like they have never been washed.

One bed was covered in either ketchup or dried blood and the bathroom smelled very bad of mildew.

I went to go to the front desk to tell them I will not be staying there but there was no one at the desk. I rang the buzzer/bell twice. Waited a few min but had to leave because it was getting late and I needed too book a room that wasn’t disgusting.

I called next morning to tell them what happened and how horrendous the room was and they completely refused to refund me. Told me I should have came to them and had my room switched but with the condition of this one room and wouldn’t want to stay in any room at this motel.

I told them multiple times there was no one at the desk and I had to get a new room ASAP. They refused and hung up. I called back and they still kept telling me no and I should have sat there and waited until someone finally decided to come back to the front desk to help me.

First, I must ask...how has this place not been condemned? How does the health department and the city of Naugatuck actually allow them to do business? The room is absolutely FILTHY. My wife and I are just ordinary people. We realize it's a cheap room. And although we didn't notice when we reserved the room that it was a smoking room, there has to be 10 years worth of stale cigarette stench embedded in the walls, carpeting, bedding, ETC. We have in the past stayed in smoking rooms. Hell, there was a time where ALL rooms in some hotels were smoking rooms. But I in my entire life(and I'm 57 years old), I have NEVER smelled such a stench. There are big stains on the chair and lamp shade. There is crud(probably mold) all through the bathroom and along the hot tub. Again, I must ask...how are they even allowed to stay open, especially during the pandemic? || We complained about the smell( before we even entered the room). They refused to refund our money.
