Came with a group of 12 ladies for my 32nd birthday and had such a horrible experience.
I own a party bus company in Houston and we decided to take one party bus to the winery and have a great time. The first thing that we hear from Trish when we walk in is, oh have y’all been barhopping? Mind you it’s 2 pm!
I paid for everyone so there wouldn’t be multiple transactions, as a courtesy. Once everyone was done using the restroom, it was like she was trying to get us out of her way and told us to go into a big empty room which was their wine tasting room which had two bars that tastings were done at and a long table.
Our tasting was nice and the lady who did the tasting for us was super sweet.
We had ordered their $80 charcuterie board and here comes Trish with her nonsense saying that she would just set the board on the long table in the big empty room for us to eat there. Mind you the grounds were really pretty and we wanted to enjoy the board sitting down not grazing like cows standing over a table with no chairs. So we asked if she could set it up outside and boy was that an inconvenience. FYI: we were all wearing heels!
Fast forward the tasting was over, we walked outside and we saw where Trish had set up the charcuterie board, we were walking down as she was walking back and asked if they could send a server over with the menu or bring us waters, she literally laughed in our face and said that we could get it ourselves and kept walking and she threw her hands.
This lady should not be the first thing that anyone sees when they enter such a beautiful winery with her customer service she needs to be in the back bottling the wines and placing the labels on them as I seen them doing today on their Instagram.
What a shame that they missed out on opportunity to have 12 ladies return and potential business with me. Bottom line, Trish needs some more customer service training!!!!
Side note: we will not be returning and will find another winery to do...
Read moreWe used to enjoy coming out here but not so much any more. We were there yesterday (after the last so-so experience) and there was a pretty good crowd for the Sip and Shop and the bottling of a couple of lovely new red wines. As it has been the last couple of times, we had to stand in line a long time to be served when we wanted our first service of a glass of wine (and the bottle of the Red Zinfandel we wished to bottle) to take around to shop and to enjoy the performance of Scott Byrnes. Please become more service oriented...You have great volunteers! Utilize them in the front so that they can educate consumers before they get to the two(! )people working the registers (with glitches) and trying to explain the winery, the grapes, the wine, the "sliders", the flights vs. the free tasting, etc. Assume everyone is a first time visitor and try to help them appreciate what you have to offer. For instance: Back in the day, Bernhardt served their wines in glasses instead of plastic cups. I'm fine with small tastings in plastic but a $10-$12 "glass" should be in glass...your hope should be that I appreciate it enough to purchase a bottle. And if I purchase a bottle of wine to consume on premise that should be chilled, I need an ice bucket (IN TEXAS) and GLASSES in order to appreciate the wine and to perhaps purchase multiple bottles. We did purchase a bottle of the new Red Zinfandel to take home and made purchases from two of the vendors. But we did not stand in line to purchase a second glass to enjoy on the property and instead moved on to another winery to enjoy the rest of...
Read moreThis review is for the winery and the Texas Flood (SRV cover band) concert we went to last night. We have been going to your concerts for about a decade with our two boys who are now teenagers. Bernhardt winery is so beautiful and I love the outdoor venue for concerts. The lovely shade trees and lightening bugs add so much! The wine is also very good. The Texas Flood show was AMAZING! This is the third time we have gone to see them there and if you close your eyes you are at a SRV Double Trouble concert. Best cover band I have ever seen; the guitarist, bass and drums are all spot on and the guitarist has perfect vocals. He even played with the guitar behind his back like SRV, it was incredible! The sound was also perfectly balanced unlike many of the concerts I have seen there. Unfortunately I never saw SRV live, but after seeing Texas Flood I don’t regret it. What an experience!!! Thank you Bernhardt for hosting such excellent blues and rock bands at your winery. ❤️ Only one suggestion for the winery. It would be great if you had drinking fountains, especially with bottle water dispensers. It is so hot during the summer and wine and heat don’t mix. Many of us don’t like to drink bottled water and prefer refilling our own bottles. I bring so much water along, but it is heavy so access to free cold water onsite would make this a perfect experience. Especially when you bring your kids who play in your beautiful fields and can’t cool off with a nice...
